    New Garage - leaking

Thanks everyone. I can take a cup of water and pour it on the middle of my garage door, and as it drips down, some of that goes into the corner of the garage door and leaks inside. I don't really know how that can be fixed?

    New Garage - leaking

I think the slope of the garage slab is the problem, and I had not realized how poorly the slab was until way too late. I just never imagined that the added plate/seal at the bottom wouldn't have taken care of this.

    New Garage - leaking

I think that is really the issue here with the garage slab. I can take a cup of water and pour it on my garage door, and it will start seeping water inside through that sill.

    New Garage - leaking

I did not intend to ghost anyone. It seemed like the suggestions were that I would need a retaining wall for the slope, and luckily, I had found a really good concrete guy to do this for me. I should have followed up on that post, so I am sorry if that was rude of me. The driveway I had poured...

    New Garage - leaking

Hello all, Hoping for some advice I have had trouble with this since being built (last year). The builder has come back a couple times to try and resolve this, to no avail. Once he had a threshold installed by the garage door installer, which I thought would fix the issue, but everytime...

Garage doors entrance issue - best solution

It is detached. I'll see if I can provide a better lay of the land slope wise.

Garage doors entrance issue - best solution

Ha, I wanted it level with our house, if we would have moved it forward some, it wouldn't have been so bad. I can try and get some from the left side, I don't know if it will show the slope much better. If you look at that black trailer, the wheels closest to the garage are about 20 or 21...

Do you happen to have any pictures of this?

Garage doors entrance issue - best solution

I'm at the final stages of having my garage finished. I'm trying to figure out is the best way to handle the downward sloped yard in front of it. From the base of the entrance to the gravel is about 6 inches, and as you can kind see from the pictures, it slopes more and more as you go down. I...

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up working with another truss shop. From my understanding, my builder is setting this up as 16" on center. I told them what I was using this for and they originally was going to build these with 2x8's on the bottom plate, but I paid a little more and got...

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

I brought that concern up and was told That bouncy is on the Vertical TL Deflection. On the 14’ room there is a .91” flex. On the 12’, there is a .73” flex. This is already with the treadmill on top of it. Was told there are things that can be done to reduce bounciness, which includes double...

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

I was able to get ahold of a truss company near me. He gave me a few options, 12ft, 13 and 14. It looks like it would be rated for 40psf, which seems standard for upstairs. Would the design I am attaching concern you?

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

I have been looking on FB marketplace and craigslist and I do see some. Most are not priced at what I would consider a bargain - but I suspect they are prepared to go down. I am not a haggler, so I would probably start a bit less than 50% and hope I get lucky.

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

This is something I started worrying about as well since mentioned. This isn't going to be a ******** gym, just a treadmill (200-300lbs), some free-weights (200-300 lb weights total), and a couple pieces of equipment (maybe 200lb average). Both my wife and I are around the 140 - 160lb mark.

    Garage Trusses - Resale?

This is where I'm struggling to understand. I haven't been able to find a true rule of thumb for what a 9/12 gets me on a 30x30 build. I believe I have seen trusses up to 14ft wide, but the other specs were missing. I do know I can get a 12ft wide, with 8ft high ceiling (partial width of the...
