Its going to be bouncy, it's not going to fall down or anything but it will be bouncy. It is showing a L/240 standard which is WAY bouncy. I designed my house floor to be over L/720 so it would feel solid. People tend to think L/360 is too bouncy most of the time. L/240 is gonna be bouncy. Moving to 16" centers would help some but would not get rid of the bouncy feel.

Did you tell the truss guy you wanted a home gym up there? They can design whatever you are willing to pay for. They may need to double up every truss and then you could run 1 1/8" advantec up there it it would probably do pretty good.

I brought that concern up and was told
That bouncy is on the Vertical TL Deflection. On the 14’ room there is a .91” flex. On the 12’, there is a .73” flex. This is already with the treadmill on top of it.

Was told there are things that can be done to reduce bounciness, which includes double ply trusses or going up on timber size (i.e. 2x8 to 2x10).

That seems like a LOT of flex. I suspect it would feel like a trampoline.

When I was designing my garage and shop building, I discovered the Menards website truss design pages. It asks you to put in the store that you would have trusses delivered to, but if you aren't near a Menards you could fudge it a bit to get the pages to work for you.
Their truss design pages let you put in some details and then gives you a quote. It might give you some comparative info to work with. I ended up getting my trusses from Menards and talked to an engine out of state (maybe Montana) who then made some changes that I couldn't do on the website and emailed me the plans for the trusses, which they used at the local Menards to make my trusses.

If you aren't knowledgeable about trusses, their truss info page would be worth reading:

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up working with another truss shop. From my understanding, my builder is setting this up as 16" on center. I told them what I was using this for and they originally was going to build these with 2x8's on the bottom plate, but I paid a little more and got 2x10's, with 2x8's on the top plates. I decided to go with a 12ft wide room.

The design ended up with a .46” deflection - which according to the truss designer I was working with, is really good for a second story. Albeit, I live in an area where there are no inspections or regulations. The only thing required with my build is an electrical inspection. I did get these from a very reputable company, so I hope it works out how I want.

I ate that cost for these new trusses, and am in the process of trying to sell my original ones. Have them listed for $2500. Knock on wood, I have had several people contact me already. I know a lot of that is probably people wasting my time, but I have a feeling I may be able to get ride of these at a loss.
