    Question about superheat.

This is a TXV system. I fixed the original post. I charged to get subcool to 8°. Superheat was 32° so we slowly adjusted the TXV to reduce it. New system. TESP is 0.5.

    Question about superheat.

Thanks for the replies and great info. So I feel like the way I have everything set up is fine. He does 99% refrigeration so I guess that's where his concern comes from.

Mini Split Install - Tools & equipment needed - First Install

Nice job. Did you buy a lot of those tools used because the prices on things like the CPS vacuum pump, Yellow Jacket 1/4" Valve Core Tool, and JB Torque Wrench Kit? I don't see any CPS vacuum pumps that cheap.

Pressure Washer Pump Protector - Anyone Use It?

I do as well. Every time I'm done with it. Squirt some in and pull the cord a few times and add another squirt. The last one I bought was STA-BIL pump protector. Also unless yours has an external bypass never let it run more than a minute or two without the trigger being pulled. The...

Mini Split Install - Tools & equipment needed - First Install

Torque and crowfoot wrenches. Do not put anything like Nylog on the back of the flare or the threads. It will affect the torque and you will over-torque. Just a small amount on the face.

    Dumb sink plumbing/P trap question

It looks like the disposal outlet is almost the same height as the drain so it's too low for it to work properly. Very common issue when people install a deeper sink or install a disposal. Did she put in a deeper sink or replace the strainer with the disposal? If you look at your second...

Mini Split Install - Tools & equipment needed - First Install

Do you have access to R32? If you have a leak you will need it once you fix it. Mini splits are not charged with gauges. If you have a leak you have to remove all of the R32 and weigh in the new charge. That's why it's important to do a leak check and pull a good vacuum prior to releasing the...

Can someone check my wiring in a sub-panel?

OP needs to find a way to run a 4th wire between panels before he thinks about cleaning up the wiring inside the panel.

    AC ductwork and dampers

I'm not an HVAC guy so take this for what it's worth. I believe you'll have a lot more issues with the newer systems with ECM blowers if you create zones and don't design a bypass in it as PoorUB stated. Too much static pressure will take it's toll on the ECM. Have you thought about two...

Thanks for the reply. I did call and was told the board is bad and needs to be replaced. The guy that installed it is coming out to replace it.
