    Insulating pole barn with framing?

This is about what I'm envisioning, nailing up wide batt insulation. Although my bays are mostly 10 foot with a couple 9, and a couple 11. https://www.steelbuildinginsulation.com/polebuilding.html

    Insulating pole barn with framing?

Hello all, I interested in insulating the upper part of my shop, and I don't want to spend the money and time to install girts to hold batt insulation. I'm seeing a couple different types of insulation for steel buildings that I can hang. Both unfaced, and faced. I'm not sure the best (along...

    Pole barn framing

Are there any girts on the outside of the poles yet? If you only use flush-mount, commercial style girts your building had to be designed for it. If you are wanting to add these in addition to the outer "banding" girts, feel free.

Electrical for shop, question for main panel

House is small, gas heat, gas range. A/C unit is pretty small too. 200 is plenty.

Electrical for shop, question for main panel

I read the box a little more carefully. Only 125 amp max on the secondary lugs. Thanks!

Electrical for shop, question for main panel

Hello all. I just built a shop out back and am planning the electrical run. I have an upgraded 200 amp service at my house. It has a box next to the meter with a 200 amp breaker there, and then runs to the main panel for the house that's in the garage. There are extra lugs off that meter...

Cheap Chinese Auto Lift Vs Brand Name Auto Lift (Triumph vs Bendpak)

Good timing. We are thinking of getting an Atlas brand lift. The 9k lb one is 1700, the Extra tall extra wide 10k is $3k. https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Atlas-OH-10X-EXTRA-WIDE-EXTRA-TALL?fbclid=IwAR2BvAie0KLgKjBJEI8A772TLcB4lw0vYBYm53mpCS0OT-hIn_pTKYmBDDI

    Pole building shop, need gutters...

Thanks all for the info. I thought about doing it as a neat TIG welding project, but if it's really that cheap I'll have them run off some continuous. THanks!

    6x8 work shop

I can't imagine a 6*8 workspace. I'm thinking 8*10 would be minimum. My little gargen shed is an 8*8 and it's a good amount of space.

    Pole building shop, need gutters...

30 deep by 42 long shop, just got the tin up today. Need to plan gutters. Should I pay someone to come bend up some continuous gutters, or are the solder type going to be good? It'll be a 45 foot run at the fascia. Thanks!

Sheet rocking the ceiling... finishing the seams?

For me, the trick is to use Ultra Lite topping. Makes sanding a breeze. Also do your tape with all purpose, then immediately with the lite topping. Hardly need any sanding. Check this guy out:

    Metal Ceiling - Lap Question

The plans on my current shop has the lap screws just screwing into the peak of the last ridge, where all the truss/purlin screws goes into the flat.

Corbel block bolts, need a better drill bit....

Thanks all. I'm using my 1/2 inch chuck Skil brand drill, it's just powerful enough that it wont throw me. I can get it to almost stall with one arm up on the pole. It's no Milwaukee! :D Just trying to track one down, going to have to drive in to the city to get one. edit: I borrowed a...

Which is louder, M12 Fuel Ratchet or Aircat 800 air ratchet?

That battery impact ratchet is a game changer. My favorite tool I've ever owned. Time saver for sure. And is clutched so won't bang your knuckles. AIr ratchets are some of the most irritating tools for me. I never used mine, but I use my Milwaukee often.
