I can't let my wife see this thread. I'm sure she believes that every tool I've bought is needed and used all the time. I just ordered the new Matco low profile pass thru ratchets and sockets. A bunch of money but I can see a lot of places I can use them. A friend of mine said to me at almost70...
I never knew there were do many different types, brands, handles. I've got S-K, the Craftsman and Snap-on. Once I found the Snap son hard handles like Genog showed I don't go for anything else and usually its a S-O ratcheting screw driver.
If you have a problem then so do I, I have eight of them. I carried one in my pocket for work and carried adapter to run sockets. With one of those and a pair of needle nose I could fix almost everything I worked on. Have a long and short hard handled in work truck, garage, house and personal...
Northern tool had a doorbell type deal I was looking at a while back. Sensor on each side of driveway all battery powered and wireless with a bell for indoors that rang when someone crossed beam. Not sure if they still carry it but that maybe a simple solution.
Damn auto correct. They replaced master cylinder and ABS unit. That was after I replaced every brake line. So I'm not sure how there could have been anything in system. I was wondering if the Phoenix would have a negative effect on the ABS unit.
I've used my Phoenix reverse bleeder with good results but I have a question I haven't heard answered. I built a whole brake system on a home built car and with Wilwood components everything worked good. I had a Land rover that blew a line. I replaced all of the brake lines and bled them by...
I just bought a Snap ton torque wrench at a flea market. I was wondering how to go about dating it. I know the logo is an older style and was curious. Also it seems to line up with my digital torque wrench but I was wondering, do truck dealers have a tester to check calibration? Also if its off...
I wish I'd put in a full bathroom. My garage is 100 foot from the house and this was never an issue until I had property on all three sides of me developed and now with age and more frequent bathroom breaks needed and houses 15' from my property lines, just stepping outside doesn't cut it...
Your experience in college is similar to my shop courses I took in high school. I never figured on becoming a metal worker or a carpenter when I took shop in high school but it gave me basic knowledge of many skills. My Dad remodeled many of the houses we lived in through my school years and he...
I'm in process of adding a PCV valve to my Cobra valve covers, I had a friend mill slots off and install the grommet and valve. Now I'm trying to fabricate a baffle. There were already posts on underside so I've tapped them and fabbed a plate but I'm wondering what to use to retain the...
I am going to need to torque fasteners in both directions and am told that some torque wrenches will only torque in one direction. Any experience with this? I have a Snap on tech angle digital but have never tried to torque in counterclockwise direction. Any chance of damage? Any recommendations?
I've always used a Lansky. I'm obsessed with a razor edge on all my knives. Some of them take forever to get there but I can sharpen while I watch tv and I make sure I keep the number of strokes even on each side. Once I get the edge where I want it its just a matter of a few strokes with the...
Upstate NY (5+ miles from lake Ontario) 480 square ft. It used to cost me $50-100 but this year I've been keeping it 45° and pushing to 62-65° when I'm out there. With cost of propane I'm already up to over $300.
