The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

This is identical to a Kennedy box I picked up at a pawn shop with tools, including a Snap-On quick release 3/8" ratchet, a Craftsman (Germany) vernier caliper, a Crescent adjustable, some measuring blocks etc. for $40.

Wilton 1750: I've got the same vise, bought new in about 1991. There was no "Made in USA" on the vise at the time but I recall very clearly I was buying a US-made vise. List price was $330 and I paid $180. I wanted it because it was the same one Snap On sold under its label, painted red.

The scoops were 5 cents when I was a kid. You could get a triple cone for fifteen cents.

$22.50, on half-price day. It just so happened I had mentioned to my wife recently about maybe buying a slicer, which most likely would have been electric. But actually, this hand-cranked one is better. Quieter, and doesn't shred the meat. It actually makes a really nice slice, as the pics show...

Since we're posting kitchen tools, here's my NOS in-the-box with original paperwork Rival/Magic Hostess food slicer from a recent estate sale on half-off Sunday. I also picked up a Black and Decker professional hedge trimmer for $4, so I no longer have to borrow my neighbor's. (No pic). The...

Old Weaver Jack (Weaver Utility, 5000lb jack)

"I wonder how much it would cost to professionally rebuild this hydralulic unit?" Wow! Seriously? I agree it's very cool, but do you really need an expensive museum piece? This is what I'd be looking at, but that's me. I buy tools to use. Now $219, far less than you would pay a professional...

    Snap On wrench model codes

You missed the OXIM, midget metric wrenches. I picked up a set an an estate sale. Handy in tight spaces, or where you want less leverage on a sensitive fastener. https://shop.snapon.com/product/Midget%2C-mm/19-mm-12-Point-Metric-Flank-Drive-Midget-Combination-Wrench/OXIM19B

I was doing the same. Unfortunately, I missed out on the 90% off clearance when the local Sears Hometown store closed.

That's a nice ratchet. Isn't it basically the same as a Proto Professional?

I think I'd mount the vise on the front left-hand corner, or the right rear, since that right front corner is going to be in the way of a lot of work when you don't need the vise. Just my opinion.
