    Camaro monument (AKA garage)

Nice job  My second car was a 1980 Camaro Z28. Midnight blue with baby blue stripes, cowl induction hood, man I miss that car. Is your car lift an Eagle lift? It looks like mine, a 7000XLT made by Eagle. Greg

Who says you can't top coat clear on VCT?

From a company called the Glow. You need a contractors license to buy it though. It cost 75.00 a kit. My 1,500 sf took 4 kits on the first coat and another 3 kits on the second and final coat.

Who says you can't top coat clear on VCT?

You have to use a buffer with 80 grit to scuff it up (scratch) so that the clear Polyurathane has something to bite into (stick to). Needless to say it's is a maintance free surface. No waxing and buffing. It will always have a high gloss, protect the tiles, and had a added level of...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

I painted the stem walls also. I painted the tire tracks (still have masking material on it), with the white epoxy, and then the black epoxy. Monday is the day I lay down the final product, clear Poly Urathane over every thing.

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

Yes it did. This morning I pouerd muratic acid deluted with water and placed it on the concrete to open up the pours While that sat I used the buffer and stiff pad to clean the VCT tiles with some water and amonua product After I spayed it off with water, used the squeezy, and got it...

What epoxy did you use that DID NOT have hot tire pick up?

Just as important as the product(s) used is the prep. After cleaning the floors acid needs to be used to open up the pours of the cement so that the product(s) wil adhere or bite into the cement. I have seen where degreaser could not get all of the stains from oils out only to have the epoxy...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

Been busy removing the old paint in what is the rv tire tracks. I need to do this before I acid etch the concrete prior to the first step, the primer. Then followed by the white epoxy, maskin of squares (like the VCT size), and using then black epoxy creating the same checker board look, but...

Clear epoxy over VCT or just polish?

Did I mention that I have a class A diesel pusher that is 38' long and weighs over 38,000 pounds. Because I am going to lay down clear epoxy over my VCT flooring I did not want to risk it. Belive me I thought long and hard about it. I thought that since I was pulling in forwards perhaps that...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT OldCarGuy’s New Toy Shop

Good point about buying equipment from auctions. There are always shops going under and then go to auction. You really can get some great deals. We had a Bridgeport with the EZ Track add on system. Nice set up. Does not take nearly as much power as a true CNC vertical milling machine. Less...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT OldCarGuy’s New Toy Shop

I had owned an operated a CNC machine shop for close to 20 years. 15-25 employees over the years. As I read your post I had a feeling you were in the business. Wish I could have taken some of the machines and tools when I left the business to my brother. However, having a smaller detached...

    How Tough are Epoxy Floors?

I have done 4 garages with epoxy, 2 myself and 2 done with a contractor. My thoughts: My first garage space was a 4 car attached garage used for parking mostly. I used a 1 part epoxy Home Depot, Baer (sp) product. I followed the instructions by: 1) taking out the oils stains first...
