    Show your "Long C" Craftsman!

I'm down. As long as no one is using my logos or name outright, we are totally cool. Everything out there I have up is fair game, just as it has always been. ^_^

You are correct, sir! I just had a handle fail during recording. Gotta love it...

I hear you there. Unfortunately, using another tool to resurrect another is the only way to make the hobby make sense. -_-

Jimmy, I am sorry for your loss. The last five years have been one big exercise in saying good-bye to some very prominent people for us. It has made managing a challenge a times. Hang in there. ^_^ Can you show us your interesting piece?

No way! That is too cool! ^_^ I had to come back and make a small edit to this post. Come to think of it, as wonderful as that piece is, I find that tape a piece of melancholic nostalgia. During that era, there was great pride in American ingenuity and our culture of being rugged and self...

Howdy, I completely understand your position. They are juggernauts to package and send. At 40 pounds a piece, these sets are about the same weight as a M1 tank shell! That's why I figured I better at least offer to buy one, if one was for sale, hahaha! If you could take a few square photos...

    Hinsdale 5/16 drive set

Howdy! ^_^ My apologies. I should have been more specific. I am in the same boat in the the sense that I have a J13 set of Hinsdales that have been incomplete for years. All I have needed are the sliding T-bar and the 3/8" ratchet. Both pieces needed are from the "Vanadium" era of the...

Oh man, I'm can't believe I'm going to ask this knowing how much it costs these days... So I just received a completed set for the 2nd variant of the 3/4" "Pear Head" style ratchet. It is the one that came after the good old round head BM & Circle K ratchet family. As much as I didn't want to...

    Hinsdale 5/16 drive set

What a treat! Thank you for uploading the photos! Finding Hinsdale is an uphill battle, but I hope you do find the missing pieces! Like the other member said, it isn't going to be easy. I'm actually in the same boat as you are, hahahaha! ^_^

I can tell you with 100% confidence that this piece, for now, did not sell to anyone.

Your Hinsdale branded example is quite rare. You'd think that pieces like yours and other pieces from that era (both variants of Vlchek's 1/2" WSSR10, Vlchek 3/8" WSRL6, and SK 40170 are easy examples) would be highly sought after and command significant money. Sadly, they don't.

Smoke, you've done nothing wrong. At this point, some of us have been interfacing with, reading the forum posts of, or working directly together for years. After a while, you get a degree of ESP about another person's buying habits based on their interests. I am not surprised to see this...
