    Greetings!

Hiya! I'm new here, or well, I've been reg'd for a while, but I've never written anything (I think). Anyways, I move around a lot but right now I'm situated in Scandinavia, Europe. I love messing around with cars, mostly using a hammer or a wrench, sometimes a screwdriver. I hope you're all...

Which type of crimping pliers for home use

I had some cheap Asian thing in my toolbox for years. Just until recently, actually, when I invested in a pair of Knipex[emoji769] crimping pliers. You could really tell a difference. I mean it.

Best Ratcheting Screwdriver? New to the forum

The tiny magnet piece often drops over time, especially on cheap bit screwdrivers. I have a Kamasa that hasn't failed me yet.

Bought a 12 mm deep Allen power socket just to use as an anvil when disassembling the rear shock on a fully sussy MTB. Don't think I'll ever use it again. Feels solid though, guess I could use it as a giant mandrel.

Time to buy a new tire inflator

    A new NAPA perhaps? [emoji848] https://www.ebay.com/itm/NAPA-260-psi-12v-DC-Portable-Air-Compressor-with-Flash-Flashing-Light/133358934773?hash=item1f0ccfdaf5:g:RhoAAOSwZ-Reailu

Seized bushing bolt: tools/methods recommendation please

Thanks for all advice, I was about to replace the rear radius rod on my 4x4 Toyota Harrier earlier today. Bolt and nut free'd up well on the subframe side, but not on the hub carrier, sigh. Ended up sawing both sides with a angle grinder. However, it still won't come out. I bashed the ¼ inch...

Bought a set of "bent" multi (metric, SAE, E-Torx) wrenches earlier today. Not sure if they'll ever come in handy though, hehe. The item description recommended it for starter motors. I haven't ever needed to replace a starter motor (knock on tree) so I'm not aware if the nuts/bolts on those...

    common axle nut sizes

I recently bought a 6pcs hub nut socket box consisting of three 12pt sockets (30, 32, 26 mm) and three Allen (inner hex) sockets, namely the sizes you mention; 14, 17 and 19 mm. Do you (or someone else) know what particular VW models that uses Allen for hub nuts? I've never seen any!

6 or 12 pt axle nut socket set

Thanks for this, guys. My Toyota uses 30 mm and I thought it was 12 pt but now when I removed the wheel it turned out to be 6 pt, and I had just bought a set of 12 point hub nut sockets. Now I know I can still use them! [emoji846] Other then the 30 mm socket, my red box also contained 32 and 36...

Any reason to keep electric drills? Have battery and air ones.

I have a cheap AC-electric rotary drill that has been lying in my basement storage for years. My Ryobi 18 volt machines haven't let me down so far, I have both the power drill (with rotary drill "knocking" feature) and the hammer drill. However, I also have a cheap AC-electric hammer drill that...

    Anyone using SONIC tools?

I recently bought a set of flexible ratchet O-spanners. They do what they are supposed to do, this far anyhow! [emoji41] [emoji373]

Basic Car Body Repair Tools / Skills?

I'm interested in this as well. A ***** naked bashed into my car in a roundabout and sped off, so now there's an ugly dent in the rear side. I'm guessing I should start by getting a slide hammer and some special tin-smith kind of hammers, those with one sharp side?

A Lambda probe removal wrench. I already have the socket but one of the probes on my old SUV sits in a hard to reach spot so I couldn't fit a ratchet onto it. This one released the probe in a heartbeat. I will probably use it once in a decade or so! [emoji1787]

Today I bought this pipe wrench. I have the so-called 1" and 2" (respectively) of the so-called Swedish model in my toolbox from before, but I thought I'd be good to have one of the so-called American model as well. One thing I can say already is that it feels rock solid, very sturdy. Haven't...
