The bulk of the drywall is now up, all that remains is some small spaces above the garage door. But more importantly I got some cabinets hung. It's nice to finally see some of the finished product starting to take shape. The main base cabinet/work bench used to be a kitchen island or...

I started hanging sheet rock on the walls today. As you can see, I went with the 4x10 sheets and am hanging them vertically so I'll have fewer seams to tape and mud. I bought the sheets this morning and of course it has to be the coldest day of the year (-4 air temp, windchill must have...

The ceiling is finally done. Took 5 days of working here and there, just myself and a lift. Now it's on to laying poly in the attic space and then putting in the insulation. I figure that'll take me a while as well. I'll also be hanging drywall on the walls fairly soon, possibly this weekend.

Uh oh. Well there is attic space up there and I was going to put in loose fill insulation. Should I put down poly between that and the ceiling?

I managed to get about half the ceiling drywalled this weekend I've learned that hanging it isn't so tough or time consuming, is the measuring, making cuts for outlets and lights and moving stuff out of the way on the floor that takes up most of the time. More reason to get rid more junk I guess

Slat wall panels in Minneapolis http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/fuo/4874039431.html Not sure if there are any left, but when I picked up what I needed there were several pieces left of various sizes. He just wants to get rid of them, so they're very cheap!

I plan to add shelving on the slat wall. I'll be installing that floor-to-ceiling and was thinking of having shelving near the top like in your picture. I believe the slat wall panels are made of MDF. They've got some weight to them.
