    Young(er) GJ Thread....Show your stuff

These aren't in any order or anything. Just some random crappy camera phone photos I've taken while cleaning the place up. I just turned 25 and I own the place. It's a 30x40 with an office and bathroom. The electric is separate from the house (I like to get a good idea of what I'm spending out...

I use them in my boxes with no issues.

    Tool Box Refinishing & Resale

I wouldn't care about a refinish, but I usually buy beaten to **** boxes and paint them, too. Personally, I don't care what color a box originally came in as long as it's not getting painted hot pink or something. True SO fans would probably want it in one of the classic colors, though, i'm...

    Pallet Racking--Value?

I have one lightweight one 2.5ish feet deep, 7 feet long, and 10 feet high with two shelves. It was 70 dollars when my local sears went out of business. Also bought four 6' x 4' x 5' tall sections with two shelves a piece for a total of 250 dollars. I plan on using them as work tables with my...

    Harbor Freight Oring Kits

I bought the metric kit and have used one for a thermostat housing on one of my sportbikes. Worked great, and, for the 3 bucks or whatever it was, it saved my ***.

Do you leave your cordless tool batteries in the charger?

I wouldn't do that. Leaving a battery in a charger that isn't plugged in will **** the life out of it faster than anything. My family deals in used tools and i've seen it time and time again where pawn shop employees will stick the battery in the unpluged charger, let it sit in the back on a...

    Kennedy Chest

Could get someone to do a reverse of the logo in vinyl so you can use it as a stencil to paint your own logo.

    WTB Oil in Bulk?

We ordered in a 55 Gallon drum of Rotella not too long ago. I'll see if I can find the invoice and pass the info on to you.

    Source for cheap screw jacks?

We lifted the body using a strap (A 50 studebaker champion. No body panels attached. As bare as we could get it) and it bent the roof. If I was to try and remove the body from a car without a lift, I would lift the whole car using normal floor jacks, remove all body bolts, then support the body...

    Source for cheap screw jacks?

You'll bend the body, most likely. The roof of the vehicle isn't meant to be load bearing.

    Bolster's "Toolbox for Cleaning Stuff."

Great read. I'll definitely be putting together a cleaner box in the near future. Most likely with a copy of this.

    Powder coating a ratchet!

I've done a few. I used an epoxy clear and haven't had any chipping issues. That being said, I have 2837573935967 ratchets, so it doesn't get used too often.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I'd mount it on the end with the most clearance, but you're kinda lacking either way. Maybe a movable vise stand is an option for your situation?

How to crack Pawn Shop Codes

I know the codes for the shops in my area, and the guys I deal with know it, but I don't make a scene out of it and neither do they. They know that, if they give me a fair price, i'll take it. Works out well for all parties. I don't try to screw them, and they appreciate it. We've built a...

What to do with used brake rotors ???

I take two, and put the wheel sides together and use them as dies for bending metal. Or use them as stand bases for some tools.
