Every job is different, so it will be hard to compare prices from one project to the next, but at the end of the day it comes down to materials and labor. Ask him for a breakdown of materials and labor and a time to complete. You can do some math from there to figure out if it is fair or not...
I am a GC. Just quoted a mono slab 4” thick with rebar and grading a similar slope for $13/sqft (Kentucky). Your guy is high

Water softeners should be sized for the application. 19 gpg water is extremely hard and would require a larger unit to be effective. The rating settings on your head specify water hardness so that the computer can regenerate at the proper schedule. You need to set the capacity rating (how many...
Only 3 possibilities
1. The seals on your GE unit are leaking
2. The float in the salt brine is bad
3. Your water pressure is over 95 lbs
Since your unit is new, I am opting for #3. The softener is only designed for pressures below 100 lbs. install a pressure regulator and restrict your water...
Deal with insurance claims daily. Color match argument is called line of sight - the argument is valid but is determined by the quality of the current finishes. Nice finishes deserve pretty repairs so if the color is not right they should correct. Likewise, if the current finishes are “less...
I am a general contractor in Versailles, Ky. Would love to give you a quote. Been building for 30+ years. Prices are not going down anytime soon... but neither are home values so the return is still positive - and financing is cheaper than anytime in history. Just had a customer secure a HELOC...
Build it as big as you possibly can… Increments of four is only because lumber size is dimensional… A good builder will minimize that

Judd had the best answer here. Get same size... probably 1.5” long and same diameter since you have steel purlins. If you oversize the diameter you will have many that will break the heads getting them installed.
Do an online search for screws. Most metal suppliers will not have the oversize...
Tennis shoes are great. Lowes sells fall protection harnesses and ropes… I am quite sure many others do as well but that’s where we get ours…
A metal roof is no joke. One mistake can cost you your life so be very careful and take every precaution. It is better to replace screws then to try...

Shingles is not the answer… If you frame out a 1/2 over 12 or 1/12 pitch everything will look right... then roof with EPDM and you will be water tight

I am a GC and we do lots of EPDM roofing. The fiberboard is a must have, but I have only ever used 1/2”. I use tapered ISO board on commercial. The ISO board is common in 3/4”+ widths. You are fine with what your roofer has installed. Not quite sure why he specified different though

I read your original post. I am a GC by trade, and have built hundreds of custom decks to varying specs.
Water moves. If we use your calculations, the structure will hold. Consider ********** the support post at least. Trying to err on the side of caution. Hot tubs are one thing, but pools on...
Your calculation are not 100% accurate
Pi x r^2 x h x 7.48= gals
3.14 x 5^2 x 2.5 x 7.48 = 1468 gallons
1468 x 8.35. = 12257 lbs
12257 / 78.5 = 156.14 lbs/ sq ft not including structure
500 x 8.35 / 56.25 = 74.22 lbs/sq ft not including structure before
You are more than doubling the load...
