"Enabling"...in the context of AA and any other psychological condition that may plague a person is quite literally the act of enabling the behaviour to continue without ramification. The wife who goes out to work a second job so her husband can continue to gamble his income away is enabling...

Watching somebody change their life can never be considered a waste of time, regardless of the length of time it may take. Whether Bill is doing it in the same time frame or order of jobs as some others may do it themselves is irrelevant as well. This is Bill's journey and if there are people...

Dave, refresh my memory. Aren't they referred to as a Robertson head? Anywho...they were common as when I was growing up in Canada. Mostly in furniture. And I have never understood why they didn't take off. They are unheard of here in Australia. They have recently introduced a hex head screw...

Yes, please do take care Dave. "Throwing your back out" by reaching sounds more muscular than spinal. Rest will fix it. Use it as a reminder that being young and fit can lull you into a false sense of security that you can do things you really shouldn't try. It can become a good thing to have...

well, how about that? You said earlier that your wife hadn't changed one bit. I assumed you were exagerating. You're not. You're right! She hasn't changed. You're a blessed man. Cheers Jim

Not looking good, is it? Refresh my memory please? What is the material the slats themselves are made of. (Under your new flashing) How did you fasten the flashing? How thick is the flashing. Let's see is we can figure a solution. Cheers Jim

Dave, push or pull....operating a RAS is a skill. Any skill, whether its operating machinery or dealing with underprivledged kids is something we first learn, and then continually perfect. The jumping of a board when pulling has only two causes. Not enough skill to know you let the tool do the...

I totally agree a tablesaw is the ideal tool. You have to keep your wits about you using a RAS but not only can it be done, but used to be done all the time. My very first mentor in woodworking was a cabinet maker who had actually been driving a truck for many years. He got jack of it and...

Stuart, at the time of publication of that manual, pulling the blade toward you was indeed the accepted practise. There was never any real personal danger if you just used a bit of common sense, but if the blade did indeed climb up over the top of the board you were cutting it threw all the...

One point in favour of the RAS that nobody seems to have mentioned is that you can't rip panels with a CMS. I would have thought that was the biggest difference. Cheers Jim

The rule of thumb when restoring anything that requires modification from the original is never to do something that can't be reversed later. If 50 yrs from now, someone can fill the hole you have in mind and take it back to 100% original, then go for it. My opinion only of course. Cheers Jim

RL, Could you explain that Exact-I-cut indicator thingy for me please? I've never seen anything like that. What does it do? Cheers Jim
