Alright leaf people, what's the best way

We're on two acres with about a dozen trees. I mow with a bagger, and dump the chopped up leaves on flower beds and around trees for mulch. When the mulching is all filled in, the bagger comes off and I mow/mulch in place. We have leaves falling into December, so there will be several more...

Utility or enclosed trailer for mobile repair & tire service?

If you change your mind on enclosed trailers, let me know. I have an 8X20 I should sell. Haven't pulled it out of the shop for over 2 years. Drop ramp back door with a man door up front. I used it to move from VA to LA and thought I'd use it a lot. I borrow my neighbors open trailer instead.

    Tank Lease?

My local welding supply would lease me a cylinder, or do a simple swap if I owned my own. I bought a 125CF filled with 75/25 online. FedEx delivered to my door. Swapping my empty for a filled cylinder is about $40.

Water heater type for new house 1800 sq ft , 2 people,

I like gas. Our gas is never out. (Natural Gas) Our electricity can be out for days at a time lately. We have a home similar to yours, single level, on slab, two adults, etc. One bathroom is opposite end of the house from the NG water heater. It takes a minute to get hot water in that...

Is my age holding me back?

My father-in-laws father was a mechanic. Retired for many years starting in his early sixties. When his wife died, he went back to work at a tool rental place, where the work was mostly small engines. He worked there till he was 94.

A compressed gallon is obviously smaller. Physics.

On a Tight Budget? Consider Corded Tools.

Funny, I just dusted off an old trouble light and stuck it in an insulated cooler with 5 gallons of honey that needed warmed up before bottling. Haven't used that thing in 5 years or more.

    wifi and cell issue

I'd like to better understand this. If a power surge is going to fry electronics, how does an ethernet cable amplify the problem?

    PVC airline explosion aftermath....

When we bought this place, the shop had PVC airlines. I cringed when I saw them while getting a tour from the PO. He laughed and said they'd been working fine for 30 years. Fast forward to just after closing and I'm replacing the PVC with PEX. I dropped a 10' section of the 30 year old...

    Sell or Keep Properties?

It's a gamble on a couple fronts. We can't know what the market is going to look like when we want/need to sell. You could end up with a nightmare occupant. I did. I had a rental for over 20 years. A lot of that time I was overseas, all of that time I was out of state. I had a couple...

    Ford Ranger Transmission debating.

Rebuilt one of those transmissions a couple years ago. There were a couple of good YouTube videos on it, and we did it all following along the videos. It was pretty simple with the videos to follow. I think the rebuild kit was about $110. Ours had noisy bearings and leaking seals.

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

I don't know if this will work, got a couple of vids uploaded to an album here, still can't figure out how to add to a post. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/media/high-limb-mp4.115131/ https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/media/limb-drop-mp4.115130/

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

This does take a long time to set up for an actual cut that takes a minute. But it was a solution to my one problem tree. It was a large oak that had split at a fork, leaving the tree fully weighted on one side, lined up to smash a maple I wanted to protect. This let me remove the limbs from...

    Let's See Your Chainsaws

It's a 3GP file and I can't figure out how to convert it or upload it. It doesn't show anything except the branch falling, you can't see any of the saw or hinge details in use.
