One of the Most Important tools: Your steel Toed Boots

+1. After some sub-par Redwings I got a pair of Whites and they are awesome. I'm on my 2nd set of soles (it was easy to get repaired).

Looks like Craftsman tool sets are now turning Chinese -PICS-

You want Craftsman Industrial or Craftsman Professional. I believe those are still made in the USA. The recent Craftsman stuff has been pure garbage... making it in China will not impact quality IMO.

High Torque Impact Cordless Wrench - Bosch versus Milky

What's wrong with the Panasonic? I've got the drill and both impacts... zero complaints.

i need a chainsaw, but what should i get?

Poulan is the only "cheap" gas saw I'd consider. Are you really going to be cutting a lot of 18" material? Rent a good saw for the big job and get a nice little electric for other use. Personally I use a Sawzall for limbing trees and it works just fine. Stihl and Husky are great but out of...

Let's talk Axes for a Minute

If you're not going to chop down a tree then get a splitting axe. The head shape and handle length will make splitting much easier. Please note that a good felling or splitting axe is not intended to chop roots or get driven into gravel & dirt. If you want that then go get a local special @...

    1/2" Ratchet usage

IMO, get good sockets and then a cheap(er) breaker bar and ratchet. I wouldn't want to use a ratchet to break loose parts. Also, for me the # of teeth in the ratchet (speed) & the size increase (bulkier) don't come into play with these bigger bolts. At this point in your career I don't think...

    Oil & filters.

    Bench grinders

Get a (used) stationary belt sander instead. IMO, it's more versatile.

    Disc Golf Target Build

Truck rims make good bottom basket assemblies but are not PDGA approved. For a backyard target they work fine.

I took my cordless 1/2" Impact apart **Pictures**

Amperage kills, not voltage.... and that battery has plenty of amperage.

Opininions on HF floorjack as a gift.

I haven't had any problems with a similar asian brand. It weighs a ton but doesn't leak. Having said that, I would never trust ANY jack... get a set of stands.

Best cordless drill for the money...

I would consider a used (LiOn) Makita or Panasonic before getting a new drill @ $150.

    Built in Generators w/transfer switch

CAT, Kohler, Cummings Onan, Powermate, Winco, Honda, & various cars like the Prius... there are a lot of brands out there. I would look at the engine, run time, and construction quality. IMO, manual works just fine and is significantly cheaper. Have the electrician put a single lightbulb on...

    Advise on a garage heater

I did the following to my old garage: 1) DIY spray insulation kit. It was less about insulation thickness and more about filling in all the large air gaps. 2) Install a Modine Hotdawg (sealed) running off natural gas. I believe they sell propane units as well. This worked extremely well and...
