Blacksmith vises 101 companies that made them, catalogs and history show and tell all

I’m looking for any information on this vise. Specifically I need help with trying to make a replacement for the missing front screw handle assembly washer. I’m guessing it should sit inside the post similar to the rear screw nut, because the screw nut fits perfectly, if it didn’t have the...

    Need Help contacting https://forum.shopsmith.com

Thank you for this. I reached out to them. I was thinking that the forum was separate from the actual business so this might be the clue to the puzzle I was missing. Simple but I should have put that together. I appreciate everyone for helping though.

    Need Help contacting https://forum.shopsmith.com

I did check the junk folder, also tried registering with another email address, and had it resend the activation email multiple times. Nothing seems to work. And like i said you have to be an activated member to post comments or email the admins so basically you can’t become a member unless...

What should I change it to. Sorry I’m pretty new to using the forums

    Need Help contacting https://forum.shopsmith.com

Thank you, but unfortunately it won’t let me comment on the post or message them directly without being a registered member. I’ve seen other comments of people running into similar issues. Seems like a stupid setup. From what I’ve found there is no way to contact them and they are the ones that...

    Need Help contacting https://forum.shopsmith.com

Is anyone by chance a member of https://forum.shopsmith.com or knows how to contact an admin over there? I’ve got a shopsmith I’m going to be restoring and figured there’d be a lot of useful information on that forum since it’s dedicated to shopsmiths. I did the registration but am not getting...

    Craftsman king Seeley drill press

I have a couple pieces of 5/8 all thread and was thinking for the depth stop, I’d try to grind the two flat sides and maybe weld a smaller bolt to the bottom to attach to the bracket. But it might not work, but was going to try it and see how it goes. They do seem pretty pricey for the actual...

Good point on the head lock. The later one piece does look better and less complicated.

    Craftsman king Seeley drill press

Ok thank you, doesn’t seem too hard to make and I think I have everything to do it except the m8 screw so that should work well. I don’t suppose you have any suggestions on making a depth stop bolt. I’ve got a couple different ideas in mind just curious what you think. It’s also missing release...

I’ll keep this in mind as well. I read some tips about using a little heat, thank you.

I think I can probably handle making something like this. Just to make sure I’ve got it right, Does the m8 set screw screw in from the back side with an Allen wrench, or do you twist it in from the dog point side. Sorry if that’s a dumb question I’m new at this and really don’t want to mess it up.

Is this a picture of the one you made? I think I could probably make something similar.

    Craftsman king Seeley drill press

I actually watched his series and that’s how I was able to walk through taking everything else apart. He does an excellent job explaining everything step by step. And yea even though his was a different model it was similar enough that I was able to follow his videos. I was tempted to try...
