    Heat Exchanger Repair?

Gotta love internet forums. Do I have to ask? No. I dont. Im not an expert and was asking if it could be done. As I stated in my original post; I was always under the impression that it could not be done. Should I apologize for not knowing something? Yes, carbon monoxide is no joke. Again...

    Heat Exchanger Repair?

Looking at a used Reznor UDAP200 heater for my garage. Guy says there is a crack in the heat exchange and says it can be welded. I was always under the impression that they cannot be welded. A new heat exchanger is $1600. A new heater is $1200. Guy is un sure if the heat exchanger is aluminum...

    Converting from CFL to LED

Not sure if you have Philips down in the states, but I have had tremendous luck with Philips lighting products. HD sells Phillips up here. In buying LED lamps for the last 3 years, I have only ever had one issue with one particular light. It would randomly turn off by itself. Customer noticed it...

    2012 Electrical code compliance

Depending on the inspector, I have seem them get picky about having lighting shared on a 20A cct. You would have to make sure your light switch is 20A rated as well as all the wiring between the lights. Make sure you do a load calculation and you do not have too many devices per circuit. When...

Add Soffit Recessed Lights to Existing Fixture

Make sure the switch ( for your porch light) has a neutral in it, not just a 2 wire. Sometimes, depending on the electrician, they will go to the light with their 120v, and go to the switch with a 2 wire. this 2 wire is just for switching, there is no neutral.

    Cold Weather Compressor Maintenance

This is what I am concerned of as well, which is why I wanted to leave it open. Im not using it daily, maybe weekly. I dont mind letting it fill from 0. If I only needed it for something quick, i can start it up until I have what I need. I figure if I leave the drain open, then no moisture can...

Sharing a neutral on same circuit

+1. Yes you are ok to run a 3 wire and share the neutral.

    Cold Weather Compressor Maintenance

So, is the general consensus that I do not need to drain the tank after each use? My thoughts are that if I leave the drain open when not using it, moisture will not be able to build up inside the tank. When I want to use it, I will close the valve and start it up. Why should I not extend the...

    New House panel advice

The electrical contractor should be able to do a load calculation based on bedrooms / sq ft / bathrooms / appliances / heating source. Having said that, if you are going so far as to upgrade the service, just go 200A and be done with it. 200A is more than most people need anyway, even in a big...

Put in separate circuit for laser printer?

There should be a sticker or nameplate on the printer somewhere showing electrical information ( voltage, amperage, power consumption , etc ). See what it is. Some printers do require a seperate cct, others do not. If it is over 10amps, you should look into a seperate cct. It may have an effect...
