So I hate to discuss this...

I have a Quality 4 post. It came with a 2 year warranty and it's very well made. I got it on sale at Good guys at Columbus Ohio. The salesman told me not to consider buying his product until I had looked the other s that were there. They also make a 2 post with a different name which I can't...

    Steel ceiling on scissor trusses

You should be able to pul it up tight at the peak and just go down the other side if you're going length ways. I put up a 40x60 a few years ago and that's the way the amish crew that I hired did it. They used 30ft panels with overlap toward the rear of the building so it isn't very noticeable...

More Lift Questions. 4 vs 2. Cheap vs $$

I have a Quality 4 post, made by Challenger, that I bought about 4 years ago. I bought the 4 post because I do body and paint and I don't get up and down too well anymore. It makes it easier to work on rockers and vehicle sides. I've worked with a 2 poster and it just doesn't work well for me...

    storing paint and flammables

If you can find them electrical panel cabinets work great. I got two of them from my work place that they were going to scrap out. The hinges had a little bend in them which a block of wood and hammer fixed. They're explosion proof for electrical purposes. They are a little difficult to find. I...

New to the forum..pics of my shop

Great looking garage. I worked in the town that's home to Marathon and Cooper and live about 25 miles south so I'm probably somewhat close by. I do like what you've done with your shop. Excellent layout.

    Septic tank

You could unbolt the toilet, lift it off the mounting point and see which way your drain flows as a starting point. Once you know the direction of the tile you can use a tile probe to follow the tile to your septic tank. Definitely easier to use the probe if the ground isn't hard and dry.

Don't know where to put this but...

I bought mine from strictly tool boxes also. I really like it. They delivered right to the shop door.

    POR 15 opinions

I use Chassis Saver, but it's not all that cheap. I've had good luck with it, it gets really hard but doesn't have any UV protection. I don't think the others do either though. When you open a can of this kind of paint and get ready to close it blow some sort of inert gas into the can to...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Buick Sales and Service Garage 1936

Just went through this thread and have to tell you this is a incredible build, especially seeing as how it's a one man crew building it. Well done.

    Another wheel dolly question

I bought the 1500 lb. dollies last year. They had the steel wheels and they work very well. I decided to buy another set this year, same model, to put my 73 mustang on. These had plastic wheels and were junk. Two of us couldn't move the car. I took them back and the store manager asked what the...

    Quality lifts

Does anyone have any knowledge of the Quality lift? I looked at a 4 poster at Goodguys in Columbus Friday. It is built very well with 5 1/2" x 4" posts and 1/2" cable. I've spent hours on here looking for info on this lift. They are a sister company to Challenger lifts and they also make the...

    Small breast drill

I just had a 40x60 shop built by Amish and every screw was put in with one of those drills. Probably a couple thousand screws. It take about 1 3/4 turns to put in a screw. It's amazing to watch, they do it about as fast as I could with a electric cordless drill.
