Best 1/4 Bits for the $$$ - Wiha?

Based on what you guys are saying i just bought a clearance pack of Dewalt drivers and bits at Lowe's. $24 for a 100 combination set. Not sure if it was a GREAT deal, but seemed like a value for DIY. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Level of expertise doing auto repairs

I'd have to rate myself fair to middling. Most agressive I've done was recently on my 02 Prizm. New shocks and struts all the way around; new exaust and sensors from exhaust manifold through tailpipe; and sway bar linkages. Other things like starters and water pumps, etc. over the years...

Best 1/4 Bits for the $$$ - Wiha?

Just finished my deck this summer and used the t15, t20, and star bits that come included inside the boxes of screws. I guess i assumed the sets of Milwaukee or Dewalt bits were just a larger collection of the **** I got with the screws and found myself asking why I'd want to buy a whole set of...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Found these Willims Superrench USA open ends this week at the ReStore in Frederick MD. They had some grease on them and were marked USA, so I grabbed them all. $3 and $4 per so seemed reasonable. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

    Help me organize garage

A shed is a life saver. Then add used kitchen cabinets (have a ReStore in ur area?) to get stuff off the floor. On the floor itself I use a repurposed kitchen island from the townhouse, repurposed custom made kitchen floor cabinet from my grandmother's apartment from approx 25 yrs ago, my...

Vehicle Oil Changes: Are you a DIY'er?

DIY. Can't stand the wasted time to drop off and wait or come back later. Also too expensive. I just do them both at the same time and buy oil for a couple of changes when on sale. It has the added advantage of forcing me to look around under the hood and car. Amazing what I can notice...

    no neutral at switch

n8n - good point. Didn't think of keeping a neutral to allow for extending the circuit to a receptacle. This is what I like about the electrical work; it's got a lot of flexibility to it. Seems like there are always interesting design choices.

tripping breaker when testing switch and circuit

It's all good mustang51js. You've been very helpful on a lot of questions for me and others. I'm learning that I've been a little cavalier about the electricity which is just stupid, so a little biach slap was probably in order!

    no neutral at switch

Norcal - yea, I think I may have outsmarted myself. I'm running BX and didn't want to buy 25-ft of 14-3 for such a short run, but duh, walk to the end of the isle and buy it off the reel in the length I need. Don't know why I didn't think of that until now. Norcal and Mustang51js - In this...

tripping breaker when testing switch and circuit

Okay, so this is shorting out a circuit. Thanks. I didn't know what to call it or search for. Trying to educate myself.

tripping breaker when testing switch and circuit

I installed a switch on a new circuit. After installing and before closing it up, I test the switch and receptacle on the circuit with a multimeter to make sure the metal boxes are grounded properly. I do this by seeing how much voltage registers between a hot screw and the metal box itself...
