Best choices for yard and garden tools in corner of cleaned-up garage?

Peg board and slat panels collect lots of bugs and spiders. Keep it simple and clean.

Jackshaft Garage Door Openers: Which will be best for cost vs. return (Bang for the buck)?

Two Liftmaster 8500’s here on a barn. One on a 10x10’ insulated section door. The othe on a 10x18’ uninsulated section door. They are great openers and have zero issues lifting the larger doors

    Coupling Treated and Non-treated Posts

You can order 6x6 22’-26’ long post. Will save a ton of labor and time. Either way you do it you still need to set and brace post till the upper frame is attached. We have a 12’ wall with post set 54” below grade using 6x6, no regrets. Using trusses, if I remember correctly our longest post was...

    Parking slab thickness question

Do car work here. Inside building is 4" 6 bag slab with wire mesh, 2" foam board except where 4 point lift is and a compacted sand base. Apron outside is 24'x48' 4" 6bag with wire mesh and rebar on a compacted sand base, also thickened to 6-8" around the edges and at pole barn door entrances...

    Radon mitigation stack

Many sump systems incorporate floor drains located in the basement floor. Those drains have traps. Unfortunately the continuously running Radon vent fan dries the water in those traps. This exposes your basement to more of the radon should you turn off the fan, or sump stink. Yuck! According to...

Adding Garage door to pole barn.

With proper bracing you can remove a post and install a heavy LVL as stated above. Your right, allot of work, but not impossible for sure. I have doors on the side of the barn, see photo) and all the builder did was post at the door sides (10’ & 18’ doors) and put in a heavy LVL with three 2x12”...

    Semi-Smart Garage Door

Buy your favorite opener. Don't connect it to the web. Put a few manual door locks on the door for security. Leave the manual locks unlocked if your going in and out. When done for the day, week, month lock the manuals. Our Liftmaster 8500's have a electronic deadbolt that works quite well...

We did 160' of 1" black (plastic?) to the barn hydrant. That's also 5' down in 3" pvc chase and running up slope. 3/4hp well pump. Plenty of water at the hydrant for all kinds of work.

    Asphalt later but gravel now?

2" crushed limestone works nice. If a temporary situation I would just put down 2" of the limestone and have it conpacted. I did this a couple years ago for the house while awaiting to put in a cement drive. It has held up very well to the UPS, FedEx trucks and others. If you put limestone...

    looking for garage door opener

Mine were purchased a couple years ago here https://weshipgaragedoorparts.com. Their price was good at the time, don't know about today. The units I have are a previous model that did not have wifi or battery back up. I was able to add a MYQ receiver for the house door opener. You might give...
