I assume the purpose of the Tee is to catch condensation. If that is correct, why do they recommend the horizontal run from the unit to the Tee be ran up hill? couldn't this allow condensation to run back to the unit?

My BM manual has the Tee on the drawings but doesn't not specifically state that it is required.
