yes the pic is horrible. the dial face is different from "zrexxer's". across the top is " The L.S. Starrett Co. " underneath that is "Athol, Mass. U.S.A. " there is nothing under the center point

Well, the box is pretty raunchy, the lens over the dial is plastic, but yellow w/ age, but no rust

As an aircraft mech, my tool box has a pair of pliers and four or five BFH's and some screwdrivers for chiseling everything I cant knock off. Seriously, most aviation hardware IS 12 pt nowadays

I recently bought a Starret Dail Indicator, a model 196 in a very used up wooden case w/ accoutrements. The dial face does not have an identifying mark as to standard or metric, rather it just has the Co. name & address. It is missing the snug and one of the tips is wrong for the set.
