    what does this socket do?

I've used mine (Of different sizes) to remove panels in false floors in ship engine compartments and factories, those often have very big, countersunk, slotted head bolts. They're also useful for rotating pumps and a bunch of other jobs.

Did I kill my Makita circular saw?

Did the guard get full of wet saw dust? Is the bearing for the blade shaft clean and lubed, or full of sawdust?

    Hex/Torx socket organization

Find a case that you can fit enough foam in and keep them in there, then keep the case in a deep bottom drawer or sidecabinet. :dunno:

Deep sockets that are less deep..

Cutting a cheapo socket was my first thought as well. That is why I have terrible, horrible, cheap tools as well as my good tools. You can modify them and you won't get a sting in your heart doing it.

How to silence an air compressor outside

We did this at our old shop and I made improvements at the current shop. Make sure the walls are sturdy, resonation can really make a noise. Maybe add a layer of heavy insulation or mats to add mass, really brings down echo and vibrations. If the compressor is not on rubber pads, fix that...

    Snapon lock replacement

Can't you fit a lock from something else? Combination lock maybe so you won't even have to worry about lost keys. I've seen many boxes with combination locks. Nice way to never need keys and have the same code for all your boxes.

Help recommend me an cordless impact wrench

I use the Makita BTW450Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 1/2". It's advertised with a 450Nm capacity (332 foot pounds.). It has served me well. I use it a lot for big bolts (M30+), break them loose with the 3/4" breakerbar or a slogging wrench and then take them out with the Makita. It zips smaller bolts...

    Snap on warranty in Sweden?

I was talking to a norwegian Bahco rep today while he fed me hotdogs and catalogs. I asked him if Bahco would be willing to warranty or offer spare parts for tools that interchange in SO, BP and Bahco tools, such as the dual 80 ratchets, ratcheting screwdrivers or impacts. He said that even...

    Garbage air compressor.. Need Help!

I would either try to find another "user" that draws the same amps and try your circuit or take the motor to a friends or neighbors garage and see if their fuse/breaker handles it. That is the easy way to narrow it down. You could also measure and test the motor, but the other way requires no...

    Opinions on ChannelLock Brand

My comment on dated and obsolete is pointed at the tongue and groove pliers. I find them unnecessarily bulky, and the ergonomics are not as good as many others. There are much better option out there. This is my opinion of course. I newer said Channellock was a bad company, I'm all for...

    Garbage air compressor.. Need Help!

Your motor could be connected to a 200 amp circuit as long as the voltage matches. The motor only draws the amps it needs, you can't force-feed it amps. But it can get too many volts, then the magic smoke will escape.

    Opinions on ChannelLock Brand

I've seen and used a few CL pliers. Not impressed. They seem dated and obsolete to me. I have no sentimental value for USA tools, or Euro, Jap or others. I buy what I feel is good stuff. I would never spend my money on CL. I will first try to find what I need from Knipex, then I'll look at...
