What did you do to seal underneath the steel wainscoting to prevent sparks from resting against the drywall?

Being a fellow Mississippian, I feel your pain.
I suspect your largest problem is heat from the garage going into the floor above.
Make certain everything is insulated to the max. Especially the garage ceiling. I would try to make that as airtight as possible.

Also bought one of the new lighted 1/2" drive ratchets for $12.97. I'm not sold on the light but a 1/2" drive ratchet for that price, I couldn't resist.

Good luck getting the permit for a 4 car in Madison. I think they have pretty stringent zoning regulations.

In addition to several revisions of Machinery Handbook, I also rely on another classic. Mark's Mechanical Enginerring Handbook. I've got at least three copies of it.
My wife thinks I'm nuts because I buy every copy of these old books I can find. Not to mention all the old tools, cars etc...
