Anyone else have an outside workbench

Not yet, but I've been toying with the idea of a cabinet w/ worktop on the porch near the grill.

Weird phenomena viewing through car windshield...

Yep. Not uncommon in cheap lower end replacement glass, though it's typically more noticeable towards the edges. That's why I typically prefer OE glass if it's still available, and in my budget. Hell, sometimes the OE glass is actually cheaper than aftermarket.

    Black & Decker Workmate

I've got an older 225(?) that I picked up while living in the barracks & apartments during the mid 90's. It still comes out and sees service now and again, particularly if I'm doing any kind of work on projects away from my garage.

What does "GARAGE JOURNAL" mean to you?

I originally came here researching information and reviews of toolboxes after leaving Sears feeling a bit lackluster of the current crop of toolboxes...for the prices they were asking. Haven't left. I've discovered another great tool brand (Wright), that will is replacing my current C-man crop...

    Toolbox recommendations

If you're looking for something a bit beefier than C-man or HF, take a look at the Montezuma boxes from Strictly Toolboxes. Substantially more heavy duty than the C-man & HF, but significantly cheaper than truck brands (and in my case still 30-50% less than a well used SO in my area). I've had...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Beauty! I love those old Ford 2 doors. '63/4 Galaxie, '63-68 Fairlane, '61-63 T-bird, '64/5 Falcon. Someday.....

I just fell in the same boat as many others

Locks keep honest people honest. If a thief wants it bad enough, they will find a way.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Galvie poisoning is nasty stuff. Make sure you clean you're weld areas thoroughly and work in an area with lots of ventilation. Fortunately there doesn't appear to be long term effects from it. http://www.aws.org/technical/facts/FACT-25.pdf Had a...

    Which Ridgid shop vac?

I've got a WD14500 that has been in use since May. I've been happy with it so far. Blasted thing is quieter than most indoor vacs that I've used in the past (not sure how it compares to current gens).

11". :bounce: It's my new favorite ratchet. My other Wrights consist of a 9.5" long 3/8" flex head, 1/4" (one **** little ratchet) & a 9.5" long 3/8" breaker. I've been replacing my Craftsman stuff as it breaks. I love the low angle ratcheting mechanism. I bought my first one while...

Picked up a new ratchet last weekend...along w/ a coupe missing 1/4 sockets. This weekend was a Craigslist pickup. :) Not tools per say, but tool storage.

Porcelain tile goes down in my garage- finally!

I keep wanting to go this route. Trying to convince myself I need to do it before I build cabinets and set up. Need to decide soon, as I want to start getting the garage user friendly. Very nice work. :)

    Source for 2500HD parts

The only thing to watch out for w/ Rock Auto is the shipping. Depending on what you order, shipping can get to be quite expensive if they end up shipping from too many locations. I ended up canceling part of an order after my $50 in parts turned into a $90 order after shipping charges from 4...
