Stuck arbor on 15 1/2 Craftsman DP

Exmax thanks but you are thinking too highly of me ;-) no, it is the other thing- I destroyed my perfectly fine spindle just not doing my research. I did try to presearch it online but found a faulty comment that it was a Morse 2 /J33 - prob some Craftsman was at some point, not mine. Web can...

Stuck arbor on 15 1/2 Craftsman DP

Apparently not these Craftsmans. Darn it, I think I ruined the intergral arbor assuming it was removable. Days work and $100 to buy a spindle assembly. officially a bad day.

Stuck arbor on 15 1/2 Craftsman DP

I picked up a nice keyless chuck on ebay for my 113.213702 1970's standing DP. Popped the chuck out but the arbor stayed put. The new chuck has a nice arbor stamped "england" so I thought it was time to say good bye to the arbor as well. I snapped on some vise grips and carefully gave a few...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Earl I was drilling my cast milling machine for DRO install- it starts hard but once it bites it goes like butter. That's with a hand drill, if you can get it in a press - you're home free.

Hi everybody. Newbie here just bought Block Grinder!!

Near Gentilly ridge-not on it, I rewired my home and shop a few inches above sea level. Beyond that I have a machine STACKING plan and installed a special 10" beam with block and tackle to hoist and move stuff in a pinch. I can swim, they can't

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Glad to know that! Someone else said they thought it was a pretty late model - maybe 1978. It doesn't have that suite line look of the older 1/3 HP but if it's newer thats a good thing. Maybe less wear on the bearings.

Hi everybody. Newbie here just bought Block Grinder!!

Thanks LNK, I read somewhere that you can still buy the quench trays but I'll prob just use a tin can. I found one wheel cover but I doubt I'll bother with that unless I find a good deal on a pair. I never use the sides to grind, or almost never. I looked like a later model to me, iit an exact...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Hello all, I bought one yesterday on Ebay for under $150 shipped. She was asking 130 and instantly accepted my offer of 100. I dont think she knew what she had as it was listed as "bench grinder" not a CM Block grinder which most ebay sellers know to do. Her other stuff was chachki home...

Hi everybody. Newbie here just bought Block Grinder!!

And here it is the big FIVER. I learned "milling" on a hefty old 70's drill press I mounted an X-Y table underneath. It was horrible, I called it the lawn mower but found I could do things that way that worked. Just last year I found a Rockwell mill up in Buffalo so I went to buy it and crate...

Hi everybody. Newbie here just bought Block Grinder!!

I work in mostly brass aluminum and delrin. I make ergonomic handholding gizmos for pro cameramen who use hefty cameras sometimes for many hours a day. Any adjustment mechanism in the parts of the camera rig that you grasp. If the handgrip is non adjustable it can be painful after a while. So...
