Drivsitfar, I don't know about a wrecking ball but I think they used it like an anvil! And they put way more torque on it than the handle could take!I'll post pics of the progress.
I've already taken a grinder to it.! it won't look all that bad when i'm done a little bondo to fill in here and there and a coat of paint, like I said I just want it to be useable.

After seeing your post, I got on alloy artifacts but found no connection with Stevens Walden and B F Goodrich. Though some of their later wrench markings do look similar to the ones I have.

I did look on alloy artifacts,never thought of comparing the letter stamping look's very similar to the vlchek and the finish.other than what is shown in the picture there are no other markings on the the wrenches.
