Actually the party was already over while Atlas Copco owned them. They branched the products into DIY (blue line) and professional (black and silver line). In the beginnings the latter where superbly made but too f.. expensive. In turn the management required them to simplify their products...
TTI isn't a subcontractor to Milwaukee but owns the brand. They just bought it from Atlas Copco as they bought it from the previous holder Merrill Lynch who ar well known for their knowledge in power tools manufacturing ;). My intention is not to bash a specific brand, but some people here are...
You're wrong. The AEG brand is owned by Electrolux AB, but it's use for powertools is exclusive to TTI. Of course you can call this a dead brand or even "*****" brand, but then that would also apply to Milwaukee.
Here's an example of a approx. 1975 AEG hammer drill, with 2 gears and 600 W (AEG SB2E-600). It's made by AEG-Telefunken in Winnenden, West Germany long before AEG power tools was sold to Atlas Copco. Atlas Copco later purchase Milwaukee pt and sold the power tool branch later to TTI.
In 1975...
That's correct. My rotary hammer is an AEG design from the era before Atlas Copco bought them. Metal gear housing with plastic mold. In fact all the electric is located in rear section while the gear housing and the chucks is in the front section. Not a trace of oil leaking after almost 30 years.
Couldn't resist to pick up a used 1994 AEG Atlas Copco rotary hammer PHE 20 RL-N for only 20€ (25$). It's almost unused, runs super smooth. Came with two extra chucks, one Metabo, one key operated Röhm, both lock in the SDS plus chuck. People seem to sell them for cheap since everybody switches...
Check out this breaker bar, sold on Amazon in Germany. Most probably a Chinese or Taiwan make, but extremely massive. It's warranted max torque is 1412 Nm that's 1041 lbf ft. As the lever is 600 mm (24") long, it's almost impossible to achieve this with a normal body weight.
Thank you! That sounds promising. The only drawback over a similar sized Bosch (blue) UBH 20 is, that the B&D's rated max. diameter in concrete is 16 mm while for the Bosch it's 20.
Hello everybody, can somebody please tell me on the quality of the Black&Decker Professional P 8017 rotary hammer? According to B&D customer service, the latest production date is 1991. It offered as NOS, but over here in germany it is almost unknown. AFAIK the B&D Professional tools are high...
You are right, there are also lots of stupid DIY mechanics around. Most of them do not even own basic hand tools but fix everything with pliers, hammer and wire. Mechanics in tire shops very often overtighten bolts or nuts since they don’t want to be sued for loosened wheels. And yes, they...
