Muffler bearing nuts can be a real pickle too sometimes (that's why I recommend a pickle fork on them).
I was joking a out that with a fellow tech last year and he pointed out that there is a such thing as a muffler bearing. Some sort of pivot design. I don't remember a vehicle reference so it may still be fake.

Exhaust gaskets from Toyota a others can be listed as muffler bearings. They need to be between spring bolts typically.

Probably not the answer to the op's problem but.... when I need a little extra loosening torque from my impact I give it a shot of oil. Turbo blast for a few seconds.

I remember the first time i worked on a car too.
Any way do what they told me on my first day in a flat rate shop.
Squat down, grab the string and pull that tampon out and get the job done.
Also, I’ve done this job a few times it’s not that hard, if i did have access issues I’d use a long 3/8 rat to break it loose.

I've never seen cars butchered worse than by some dreamer who thinks he knows best, working in his driveway, because he "cant trust mechanics!"

You are right, there are also lots of stupid DIY mechanics around. Most of them do not even own basic hand tools but fix everything with pliers, hammer and wire. Mechanics in tire shops very often overtighten bolts or nuts since they don’t want to be sued for loosened wheels. And yes, they usually have impacts wrenches.

I have seen this in aviation to some of the mechanics use a Leatherman on the aircraft WTF! Wish Midwest Airlines was still around never seen any of that there. At Skywest it's actually on their minimal to list.
