Craftsman Block motor Bench Grinders - What's the Fuss (with resource information)

Thank you for the info. I ended up ordering a Norton. Was having issues actually finding one that met all the right criteria - made in USA, diameter, arbor size, grit, rpm rating, etc. Think the one I ordered will fit the bill. Appreciate the help.

Craftsman Block motor Bench Grinders - What's the Fuss (with resource information)

Can someone recommend a quality USA made 8” general purpose grinding wheel (5/8” arbor) for a Craftsman 397.19450 bench grinder?

    Wilton 4" Vise

Thanks! I looked for that vise for about six weeks before I found it at a price I was happy with. I made that bench top about ten years ago and never completed the project. The top moved with me back from Texas and sat in my garage collecting dust for the last several years. I finally pulled it...

How many workbenches do you have?

Right now I have two. One is a six footer with a doug fir base and a cedar top that I use for reloading. The second one is an eight footer made entirely of doug fir and is going to be a general purpose bench.

    Wilton 4" Vise

The static jaw is stamped “101157” and the dynamic jaw is stamped “101158” - also under the “101147” is “WF1”. The jaws are definitely 4” even. Here’s another picture with better lighting. Pistol is for size reference. Do you know what the WF1 stamp indicates? Thanks for your help!

    Wilton 4" Vise

I recently purchased this 4" Wilton vise. Is this a 400 S model? The numbers 83 are stamped on the key. It weighs about 60 pounds. I'd appreciate any info anyone can give me about it.
