I recently purchased this 4" Wilton vise. Is this a 400 S model? The numbers 83 are stamped on the key. It weighs about 60 pounds. I'd appreciate any info anyone can give me about it.

I’ve got 10 Wilton bullet vises. All sizes between 2 and 5 inches.
It’s hard to see and be sure with the light glare on your photo but model 101160 is a 3 1/2 inch jaw model. Maybe I’m seeing 101160 and that’s wrong.
Are you sure the jaws are 4 inches wide?
Your weight estimate of 60 pounds is consistent with 400S

You've got a great vise! 400S or 350S … either one is a great user for all but the most heavy duty work.

The static jaw is stamped “101157” and the dynamic jaw is stamped “101158” - also under the “101147” is “WF1”. The jaws are definitely 4” even. Here’s another picture with better lighting. Pistol is for size reference. Do you know what the WF1 stamp indicates? Thanks for your help!526C1271-1545-4AC9-A0BE-3EAF34B324E9.jpeg

Good Looking Vise on a pretty workbench.

Welcome To The Forum.
Thanks! I looked for that vise for about six weeks before I found it at a price I was happy with. I made that bench top about ten years ago and never completed the project. The top moved with me back from Texas and sat in my garage collecting dust for the last several years. I finally pulled it out and finished it. The top was so warped I had to remove 1/2 off each side with my router to get it level.
