I have a SB 18 with a 110/220 single phase motor.
I have had this lathe for 5+years wired to 220 single phase.
Use it all the time. Now....every other or so time when I shut the switch off I get some popping and blue sparks out the bottom of the motor. I can turn it on no problem...
Jet was bought out by Walmart as a bid to take on rival Amazon. I have bought things on Jet with no issue, they just don't have the market on online shopping...yet.
Is the top plate level? I mean did they account for the slab being un-level and cut the wall studs to make the top plate level? Or is the whole shed tipped the same as the slab? It's a shed...is he really concerned about it? If the shed is level then wall units and benches can be mounted level...
Black Dickies carpenter jeans. I was pretty nervous at first because they are stiff as a board when you buy them but, wash em a few times and you're good to go! If you want shorts just cut a pair off and have your favorite person that knows how to sew put a new hem along the new bottom edge.

^^This! My local Menards carries construction grade screws. They look like sheet rock screws but are yellow zinc oxide in color. They are not are brittle as sheet rock screws. The heads don't pop off as easily.
7/8 - 3/4 box end wrench is a MUST! The 3/4 end handles all the nuts for tipping the head on an angle and the draw-bar. The 7/8 end handles the standard nuts of a clamp set. This is for a standard Bridgeport style machine.
My old house had anti siphon valves on every sink to prevent toilet flushing from sucking the water out of the p-trap. Also does the same if you fill up the sink and then drain it. The quick introduction of water causes the valve to open letting air into the drain line and preventing the trap...
