    Quality Dremel Style Tool?

Thanks guys. Those Foredom tools look interesting and may be exactly what I need. The problem with these 3" cutters and that initial Makita die grinder mentioned is the size. Those are way too big for what I need. II have multiple other tools such as a 3" air cut off tool, etc. that I use 99%...

    Quality Dremel Style Tool?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a Dremel style tool that actually lasts for cutting metal? I rarely use mine, because I keep burning them up, but there are some times it just comes in handy. I really only use it for the metal cutting disks. It seems like I literally get 2-3 uses out of...

A (minor) note of caution about Lisle tap sockets

I guess I need to check mine. I also bought some a few months ago after seeing everyone talk about them. I haven't had a need for them yet, so I just tossed them in the tool box.

Where do flea market sellers get all of their tools?

It seems like every flea market, swap meet, large yard sale meet, etc. all have a few of the same tool vendors that always show up. They always seem to be loaded with stuff such as Snap On, Mac, Cornwell, etc. Any theories on how these guys find all of this stuff and at prices cheap enough to...

    3/8" torque wrench

I really love my Snap On Tech Angle. The couple of others I've used have been pretty crappy in comparison. Imo this is one of the areas that the Snap On is worth the money. Although at the current list of $750, I do think the price is insane on these things. I just haven't seen a better...

Icon G2 Ratchets vs Snap On

I don't have any professional experience with either. However I do with some other large YouTubers in a different industry. I've heard them make the same claims that they never take money, etc. while I know for a fact that they are getting paid for the video. The standard practice is that they...

Icon G2 Ratchets vs Snap On

You guys do realize that most of the content from large channels in YouTube are just paid commercials right? I don't work in the tool industry, but I do work in another industry and I've seen it first hand. Just because someone on YouTube says something is just as good, or better while being...

    More Air Compressor Repair Help

That is correct. It's a 30A fused disconnect. I've had this setup for years without an issue until now, but I'm wondering if I should go ahead and upgrade it.

    More Air Compressor Repair Help

Thanks guys! I found the problem and I feel really dumb that I didn't identify this at the beginning. I just thought the motor was getting power since my non contact voltage tester was showing power, then the meter was if I checked each leg to ground. Turns out I wasn't getting power on both...

    More Air Compressor Repair Help

Looks like I'm getting 9-10 volts coming into the hot wires at the switch when I'm doing that. So now I'm thinking it's got to be the breaker or the disconnect now. I'm going to pull the panel cover off and check at the breaker now.

I didn't put a new switch on it, but I unhooked the switch and wired the hot wires directly to the motor wires and it didn't run. I also have a disconnect right before the compressor. So I'll check it at the breaker. I just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

So when you're saying check it across the white and black hot wires instead of to ground, are you just leaving the meter in volt mode and putting one lead to each hot wire?

    More Air Compressor Repair Help

Well, I'm officially stumped. I previously posted about my Kobalt 80 gallon compressor dying on me. It seems like a relatively simple device. I tested the switch and it is working properly. Power is coming through it as it should. I even bypassed the switch in my initial testing with the...

    Help Diagnosing Air Compressor Failure

Any idea what I should be looking for when I start checking the resistance? Having never taken one of these apart to check, I'm not sure what's normal. I'm also not really sure how to get it apart to he honest. I guess I'm going to have to fiddle with that. I popped the nuts off of the front and...

    Help Diagnosing Air Compressor Failure

I did do that. Everything looks good there. I just didn't think to mention it in my earlier post.
