    OBD-II Break Out Box

The OTC and Cando boxes are fused at 5 amps. My interest is more in diagnosing power and ground integrity in the cabin wiring. Mostly low current stuff but I'll still have to break out the Power Probe if I wanted to spin a power window motor. LEDs do have a reputation for being noisy if the...

    OBD-II Break Out Box

The fuse on pin 16 is rated at 5 amps. Noise from the voltmeter? I'd like to hear more about that. I can see maybe a few nanovolts on pins 4 and 16, how is that an issue?

    OBD-II Break Out Box

You can do a lot more with a breakout box than just use a voltmeter or scope on the DLC circuits. For example, you can also use it as a mini power probe to diagnose a malfunctioning power window, door lock or mirror circuit without having to run power and ground leads in from under the hood...

    OBD-II Break Out Box

I also looked at the AES LineSPI Smartbob. Nice tool but it doesn't have a voltmeter and not all of the pins have LEDs.

    OBD-II Break Out Box

I'm in the market for an OBD-II Break Out Box and am wondering what you guys are using? I'm torn between the Cando OBD Aid and the OTC 3415. I'm partial to OTC tools, but the Cando has a longer cable, a light on the OBD connector, and some sort of built in test routine to conduct a "safety...

Matco Maximus 2.0 vs Launch X-431 PRO3 Scanners

Are the daily digests for subscribed forums still being distributed? I am subscribed to several forums on this site but have not received any digests since February 10. They are not going to my spam folder either, I already checked there.

Snap On Modis Ultra or Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P???

I'm looking at two scan tools - a gently used Modis Ultra EEMS328, with hard case, manuals & full set of test leads & adapters for domestic, European and Asian vehicles, updated to version 17.2 software. Or a brand new Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P Tool with J-2534 programmer, hard case, all the...

OTC #1532 2 ton aluminum racing jack worth rebuilding?

Well I fixed my jack, turns out it just needed mega bleeding. And apparently it bleeds better if you bleed at both the fully retracted and fully raised positions. At least it did for me. Here are the steps I followed, a bit more involved than the process OTC recommends. Your mileage may vary...

Any thoughts on the HF Earthquake 20V 1/2" Impact wrench?

Well maybe. The Earthquake and DeWalt DCF899 are rated for 1200/1100 ft lbs breakaway torque and 700+ ft lbs tightening torque. I can't think of anything I'd be doing that would exceed that, and if I did I prolly wouldn't be doing it myself anyhow. But from the limited amount I've read, it...

OTC #1532 2 ton aluminum racing jack worth rebuilding?

OK, that's a new one to me. What and where is the overload screw? Is that the center screw on the power unit?

Cool, thanks. There is one within driving distance for me!

Any thoughts on the HF Earthquake 20V 1/2" Impact wrench?

That may be but maybe I don't know how to search. I can find plenty of posts on Harbor Freight and Earthquake impact wrenches but zero on the 20V cordless impact.

OTC #1532 2 ton aluminum racing jack worth rebuilding?

I will try that. Which screw is the fill screw and which is the bleed screw? I'm guessing the leftmost screw (as you are standing behind the handle with the jack pointing away from you) is the fill and the rightmost is the bleed?
