I'm looking at two scan tools - a gently used Modis Ultra EEMS328, with hard case, manuals & full set of test leads & adapters for domestic, European and Asian vehicles, updated to version 17.2 software. Or a brand new Autel MaxiSYS Pro MS908P Tool with J-2534 programmer, hard case, all the leads & adapters.

Price is about the same for each. Which is the better tool? What will one do that the other won't and vice versa?

I have a Hantek 4 channel scope so my interest is directed more toward the scan functions and the vehicle-specific guided component tests than scope functions.

Autel doesn't have vehicle specific guided component tests but is a great scanner and works better than snap on stuff on euro cars.

I have a Verus and the Autel. I like them both but the Autel is a better value IMHO

I don't know if you have already purchased this device. I think ms908sp is a better choice. MS908SP is the MS908P update version. Autel MS908S Pro can replace Maxisys MS908P.
MS908S Pro comes with Autel Maxiflash Elite J2534 ECU Programming Device also.
Autel MS908SP also offering 2 years free update. and the price is $2080 at obd2tool.com
