    USA oxygen acetylene hose

I’m retired now but used to do construction work where we had hoses running all over jobsites. Conditions were harsh. Im not sure where they’re made but we used Victor hoses, torches, & regulators. In general they held up much better than extension cords. I’m pretty sure they make different tiers.

Best value on mini split brand?

I bought both mine through local wholesalers. A Mits & a Daiken. The Mits is a much nicer unit, holds the temp better, whisper quiet, more efficient, etc.. it’s just a higher quality piece of eqt. The Daiken was 1/3 the cost, and it’s obviously a few tiers lower. Daiken is somewhat local so...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

That’s a serious bilge pump. When mine kicks on I just reach down and put the drain plug in 🤦‍♂️

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

LOL! I was working on mine too. The Last bolt I put in holding the lower unit on pulled all the threads out. I had to remove it again and put a helicoil in. 🤦‍♂️ I just got it back together a few minutes ago. If the wind isn’t blowing too hard I’ll check it out tomorrow. I gotta start doing...

    bathroom sink drain installation

I’ve never seen a lav with that plastic around it like that (started Plg in 1978). I’d be tempted to remove it but I’m hesitant to suggest that to someone else. Is it a new lav? Directions? I’d still probably toss it but again… that’s me. Generally you put putty between the flange on the drain...

    Mini split ceiling cassette experience?

I was faced with a similar decision in a less than ideal shaped room. This is our FROG (finished room over garage) we use for a guesthouse. That’s a 18K Mits floor standing unit. It actually mounts to the wall. I keep two ceiling fans running in reverse to distribute the air evenly. I can keep...

    silversolder question

It isn’t necessary to “cap” the joint. During a medical gas shutdown, sometimes we might cap a joint if there’s any doubt we may not have gotten it good. Last thing we’d want is to do the shutdown twice because we had a leak. If you’re in a situation where it would be a great inconvenience to...

Diagonal flush cutters for plastics and cable ties specifically

Will these leave blunt edges on the cuts? I used to use dikes but they leave razor sharp edges. I twist them until the break now. Leaves a nice bulbous end.

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

I guess ultimately you would need more than 3 90s unless you happened to cut in directly below where you needed the new line. My point is, don’t waste a 90, use a tee to provide the opening and make the 90* turn.

Best approach for tapping into a buried waterline

10 posts in 7 years? When this guy says something, listen up 😉 In my (professional) opinion, this is what I’d do. I’ve used the slip couplings before and they can be a PITA if the pipe isn’t aligned perfectly or there’s a burr/nick to get caught on and your left with a fitting half glued on. If...

lifting cart with winch on it? What is this thing?

In my business we call them duct lifts. Of course you can use them for lifting something other than duct.

Car lift - is it worth it when you're old

I understand. My whole life I’ve made decisions based on what’s likely to happen in the near, not so near, and far away future. It’s survival instinct and as we age the perspective changes. It doesn’t depress me to know I (likely) won’t be here in 20 years, it lights a fire under my *** 😂 That...

    Generator Gas Tank Rust

I have the same problem with a Honda generator tank. I tried everything and couldn’t get it to quit producing rust. Eventually just replaced the filter on top of the petcock and ran with it. It’s been doing fine for a couple of years now. If, when, I start getting trash in the carb again, I’ll...

    Music sources in the garage

Yard sales, goodwill, marketplace, etc.. have an abundance of vintage speakers priced right. A refurbished integrated amp (Yamaha top left in second pic) on accessories4less is pretty inexpensive too. That and a cell phone will get you something that may not be much to look at but sounds way...
