What did you do "IN" your garage today?

After further investigation, you may be right and this is some type of homogenous plastic such as ABS. I thought it may be fiberglass because that's what replacements are made from. But, of course, lots has changed in 46 years. The biggest crack is this one in the front of the fairing. I may...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Started removing plastic from the '78 LeMans. I'll have to make a determination if I can repair some of the cracks or if replacements are required. I have no experience fixing fiberglass so that may enter into the decision.

    Outside Compressed Air Outlet Ideas?

Would it be easier to just have a portable compressor (pancake or roller) that could be taken outside when air was needed?

Disadvantage of surface wiring in a pole barn other than cosmetics and cost.

In my neck of the woods, the wiring in the wall is always in conduit.

PB Blaster as long term lube

Isn't PB Blaster the same as WD-40? Just a water displacement fluid, not a long-term lubricant?

Is this price reasonable for 40x30 detached garage?

My turn-key garage was about $150/sq. ft. in 2021. So $90/sq. ft. seems downright cheap, especially nowadays.

I wonder if it's using force-sensing inside the unit for this. The opener reverses when it senses that the door has hit something on the way down.

Here's a view with both openers in separate images. I have a total of three doors (see my avatar) with jackshaft openers on all of them. The 8500 (left image) in on one of my doors and the new 98022 (right image) is on another. The 8500 has a spring-loaded roller that contacts the door's...

You can see one of the screw holes where the roller used to be on the right. If you use your x-ray vision you can look through the curved rail on the left, the black thing is the roller on the other door.

Earlier this week one of my LiftMaster 8500 garage doors started to move only about a foot and the wall controller displayed a 1-5 error. Today the door company replaced the opener (under warranty). Since LiftMaster doesn't make the 8500 any more, the new install is a model 98022. The biggest...

Best size for 800 Sq. FT Limit

When I fought with my municipality to build my garage (full story in my build thread) my garage space was limited to a percentage of house living space. Since the building ordinances never stated one way or the other, I always referenced interior dimensions when dealing with the village. With...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Whenever I take my old Chevy out for a spin, the T-tops are always removed. But I got tired of putting them on my workbench where they take up a lot of space and can get damaged. So today I built a holder for them. I couldn't find anyone who has built something like this so I had to wing it...

Re-attached an emblem on the door handle of the monthly driver. Attaching it took about 5 minutes but it took me about 3 months to get around to doing it. The story of my life.

Replaced the cardboard surface on the workbench. The bench top is an old solid wood door that I got for free. It's fine but I like having the cardboard on top as a kinda, sorta cushioned surface.
