I try to go with the rule of temporary can become almost permanent and every time I save ten dollars it seems to cost me a hundred later or I am unhappy when I have to live with what I have and it is not right .
If I was to build a 14x28 I would consider one with the barn type hip roof. I sure wish I had thought of it before I built my paintshop. All that space in the loft and I find them visualy nice. You can add a implemt storing type roof on one side and it looks good also. Hugh
Has the car you are going to restore got rust issues and has it lost its strucktual integraty. I tow mine around the claim here with my old tow truck and move between the two shops. It is more than most want but you could look at the picture and it is different than most. For a lark you could...
I use mine all the time. Goes great with a sisior jack for brake work and doing body repairs on the lower portions using the sisior jack. I have a recycled tire rubber ramps that give a eight inch lift and I use them constantley for doing quick detail work on the front of cars. The stool goes...
Why not sell the two you have and get 1 unit that will do the job. I see complete second hand unites for sale that the owners want to upgrade to even bigger . Hugh.
My son is a climber of sorts as he loves to go to Smiths rock in Origon and the red rocks outside Vegas. He lives beside the Chief in Squamish BC. Following him around has given me a complete new respect for rock climbing. A problem we get is to much stuff and try to maintain it all which...
Instal an exaughst fan under your work bench and also your welding bench. Have an opening for fresh air to come in on the other side of your shop or a hole with a filter in the cieling is very good with a filter in it.. Air in and Air out. Use a sealed motor. Knew of a fellow that tried to...
On running air lines in the shop if can run the line the longest way around the shop to your user piont. If you can have the line full circle that is also better. Run copper lines as it will allow for heat disapation and you will have less water problems. If you look up on the net for paint shop...
You should run a minimum of three quarter inch diameter copper pipe. That is so you can use HVLP equipment. The line should run up and across to the shop. You should have the line so that it is sloped back to the compressor and a drain valve for water where your flex hose is to the comressor...
Drywall for fire protection and finish it and paint it and when it looks good you will be a little more carefull. It is totaly unreal as to the amout of light difference after the shop is painted. Painting before you move in Is the least spent and best spent cash in a shop.
Look at the Devilbus web site. They are made in Ontario. They call them Devon now I believe. I have three Devilbus compressors. They are each five horse. They are not cheap the good one. Get a two stage if possible. A good compressor will last a lifetime with proper matience. My dad still...
Thank you for the comeback's guys. I have had a lot of fun along the way on a lot of different things. There is so much out there now in the knowlege end of things. Working on the new and the old I have seen a lot of changes and the improvements in the automobile. I am luckey in that I get to...
For a shop of your size I would get a oil over electric heater and plug it in. They look like the old hot water radiant heaters. A lot of woodworking fellows use them as they are safe from fire and explosion.
