    Question on wire size and proper conduit for running power to my shed

    Yes, as already said, use 10/3 w/ground, red & black hots, white neutral and a bare ground. 1 1/2" conduit is overkill, I'd use 1" max. Around here (SW) Idaho, if using PVC conduit, we are required to use schedule 80 for the sweeps and risers.
