Where to mount your hose reel

I agree, when they're parked, not being worked on in my garage, that is sometimes true. More often than not I park in the middle when I'm working on them because it gives me room to open doors, take wheels off, use the jack, etc... If your 2 car is split down the middle with 2 doors, the...

Where to mount your hose reel

I have mine mounted to my ceiling almost dead center. DON'T PUT IT THERE! When I have a vehicle in the bay, I can't reach the hose without climbing into and on the vehicle. Have a death wish? Lean against my car with your belt buckle trying to get to the hose hanging above it... I have to open...

    Air Compressor Location

I agree with the attic. Also, it doesn't get much easier to drain something when you're already under it. Extend the drain through the finished ceiling if need be, but if you're not finishing it, it's right where you want it.

    Motorcycle Lifts

I got a Handy in the 90s, still works great. Gave a HF lift to my brother for his chopper... my bike was too heavy for it anyway. Also have a steel frame that lines up with some points on the engine/frame that allow 360* access to the bike. Lift the roller with the Handy, slide in the...

What is your “I wish I would have during your build...?

I love all of the concrete work I had done while the crew was there - 20x40 slab in garage 40x15 patio 45x45 driveway BUT it wiped out my budget. Now I've been wiring it for a year (because I have enough to get me by and little incentive to complete it) and the nickel/dime stuff to finish it...

Designing my garage, a couple questions

Steel I-beams aren't the worst thing, why is that not an option? Just curious.

Tool or technique for seating larger diameter PVC pipe and fittings

If I'm fighting to get it to fit, I didn't measure properly. Often times for me, the strain comes because I'm trying to stretch a pipe, straighten a bend, or bend a straight... instead of being able to assemble everything in a natural state.

    liftmaster 8500

I cut the wires mere inches from the sensor and then plugged the shortened version into the opener - and same result. I then cut the working sensor off of the other door and wired it directly to the opener, still nothing. I'll call them.

    liftmaster 8500

Asking for a friend. He has an 8500 and his eyes stopped working properly. I checked and double checked the wiring. I also unplugged the opener itself trying to reset that. The orange light is on constant. I can only get the green light to flicker when removing and then replacing the power...

How to dry my trucks interior

If you already have the rubber floor, just use a towel to wipe it out. No reason to spend $100 on another layer of rubber that won't sit properly on your current rubber floor that isn't self-drying anyway. Those are designed to fit on carpeted floors. Takes 2 seconds to swipe it dry and get...

    HF LED Shop Light

They go on sale for $18.99 occasionally, but getting them for $19.99 isn't too much of a challenge. FWIW - I bought a case of them using a coupon and the manager allowed it though there was a limit of 5 (I think) on the coupon. I've been using them for about 6 months - no complaints at all. It...

How important is it for you to avoid the false positives? I imagine the generator runs weekly regardless of there being an outage.
