    Help With Lighting Garage

Guys who can I pay to help me figure out lighting for the scenario described above? I’m traveling for work non-stop and, frustratingly, don’t have time to research what I need to know, yet I need to make decisions soon. Anyone out there?

    Help With Lighting Garage

Hey all. Any one know of folks I could speak with to come up with a lighting plan for my garage? We're at the phase of picking out lighting (still have some time though) and I'm not sure the folks I'm working with know enough about garage/work lighting - so I need a pro resource. I'm drowning...

Willing to pass wisdom onto my upcoming garage?

Understood - here's a different capture of the above picture, with some emphasis on the garage area. Sorry it was unclear above. No counters or any objects are depicted in the picture; it's just empty space/walls, if that makes sense.

Willing to pass wisdom onto my upcoming garage?

I'm so confused - you're the second person to say that. Where did you get that the DEPTH is 16'? The "depth" for two cars is over 40'. Am I missing something?

No - the picture I posted of the plans are THE plans.

Willing to pass wisdom onto my upcoming garage?

Hey all. Just broke ground on the construction of our new home this week. Rebuilding after Hurricane Harvey flooded our home in Houston, just demo'd the old house and starting all over. Trying to get the garage I'd like...finally. Here's a snapshot of the garage, or the relevant part of...

    Great service for maxjax

I've also used my lift a handful of times over a few weeks of total use and one side is slower than the other. It's getting worse and worse, and now I'm seeing the seal on the slower column is leaking, and it's quickly getting worse so I'm not comfortable using the lift now. I emailed Gabe but...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

All these posts makes me which so badly that I had time away from work to become educated on these issues...not to mention I'm freaked out by your post - this is getting complicated! I most definitely appreciate the information/advice. You asked whether the tensioning tendons are part of a...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

I will definitely know where the cables are so it should be a non-issue indeed (unless there is something else I'm missing here). But still, my understanding is that with this darn 2500 psi slab they poured, I won't be able to put a "full size" two-post...totally screwed. The 2-posts that...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

Guys, seriously. It's a post-tension slab, period. I don't understand why everyone is so thrown by this. The real issue here is whether I can continue with the building and purchase of this house given that the garage foundation may have 2500 psi concrete. I'll get it tested to see what...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

I think the tension cables gave it away... :) Why do you say you can't put a lift on a post-tension slab? Don't people position the posts away from the cables and carry on without any problems?

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

Oh gosh, I just realized I embarrassed myself and made it clear how little I know about foundations. I was using the earth next to the foundation as a frame of reference for determining the thickness of the slab. Not at all the right frame of reference! I suppose I'll have them test the...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

Wow, what a helpful group! Thank you so much! The foundation is likely to remain as poured, unfortunately. Something I did not mention (!) is that this is a post-tension slab. Are modifications such as those described above (e.g. adding additional concrete where the posts would be located)...

Plans to install 2-post lift - Incorrect slab poured

Hello everyone! So I'm experiencing a very frustrating situation with a house I am having built right now. Long story short, instead of pouring 3000 psi concrete in the garage (to accommodate a 2-post lift), 2500 psi was poured. The specifications for various lifts I've found call for 3000...
