Critique of initial idea for a garage apartment

Yes there will be codes!!! The point about living in this rural area is that it can be done legally, with permits. Will I have to comply with codes for a dwelling, yes! So what. I was asking a structural questions, not a legal one. This is an example of something dimensionally similar to what I...

Critique of initial idea for a garage apartment

I live in a very Rural area of northern Cali, so before you jam code regulation down my throat, where I live most things are possible including a garage apartment. pole barn garage - 4x4 vs 6x6 posts

I looking to build a 20 x 16 x 10 ceiling garage with a gravel floor to start with. Structural wise would it be better to use 4x4 PT every 4 feet or 6x6 PT every 8 feet? Thanks.

    Radiant Floor Concrete

Searching this forum I've found several threads of radiant floor heating under a concrete floor used for auto repair, with lifts, etc. So obviously it is doable, which I thought it would be a problem. But I have a couple of questions about the requirements. I'm a noob to this forum and to RF...
