That was a great lead. Not sure if it's a Milhoff, but searching on that lead turned up other GJ images. Makes me wonder if the one I'm looking at has a bent handle and is missing the swivel base.

I don't have it in possession yet. Going to pick it up today. I'm curious about it, so going out on a limb. Here are a couple more images texted to me. I'm not sure these will yield much more.

Re: Micrometers Beyond One Inch For mics beyond an inch (e.g., 1 to 2 inches, 2 to 3 inches, etc.), do you expect the thimble to roll past zero without a standard inserted between the anvil and spindle? I can adjust this used mic to zero with a standard, but it rolls quite a bit past zero...

The old catalogs I consulted seem to indicate No. 12 is in reference to the protractor head only, which could've been bought as a set that included a blade. Do you guys agree?

Would you say then this is a No. 11 as opposed to a No. 33? Thanks to all, once again.

Just picked up a Starrett square head and rule and have yet to receive them. The rule is a Number 4. Comparing this head to others I've seen that appeared similar, it seems to me to be authentic. Just looking at pictures of heads that seemed of this vintage, I've not been able to pick out any...

The chest base is not lined, Outlaw, and I think zkling is correct about it not being in the Machinist's Series.

Please see the additional photo, Outlaw. Although not an expert, given the drawer pulls; the lock configurations; full felt in all drawers, except the Machinery's Handbook drawer; and the weight of the thing--every bit of 80 lbs, I think this is a 3611. Do you agree? Let me know if you need more...

The smaller seven-drawer boxes come up for sale in my area now and again and are posted from $45 to $75. The larger chests don't seem to come up that often in my area--Lansing, MI--from what I've seen.
