Thanks all for your replies. I've finally gotten back to this project. Here's what I've discovered. The local roofing supply house tells me that anything piercing through the steel is excess and can safely be removed. The screws are not hardened. So, with that, I purchased the Faithful 24" end...

I've experimented with a cut off wheel. It's hard to get as close to the ceiling panel as I'd like without scarring the corrugated panel, which is being left as is.
