    Woodpeckers eating my house!

I had the same problem last year(2015) The woodpeckers dug out all of the carpenter bee larvae. This year I had no carpenter bees and the woodpeckers left the house alone.

    smartside panels

I have Smartside panels on my pole barn with no osb under it (just nailed to the girts). Just nail it to the girts with galv siding nails. Don't nail to osb where there are no girts, those nails will more than likely back out, and no need to nail the **** out of it, just 16-24 in spacing.

    Anybody ever try this??

You don't state your location! If you are in a freeze thaw area, I don't think it will last a winter. If you are not in a cold climate, I would still dig deeper and put a layer of gravel, to provide drainage, then you would need a layer of sand for leveling and also drainage pipes thru the...

Thanks for all the replies, all were helpful. Will be using the band saw and sander. Best of all I saved $30 bucks.

Thanks for that suggestion, I loaned my band saw to my brother awhile back and didn't even think about it.

inside diameter of a hole saw

The circle cutter won't work as I'll be using it in a hand held drill. Thanks for the post though.

inside diameter of a hole saw

I need an exact 4 1/4 plug for a project. The way the saws are packaged it is hard to get an exact inside measurement, and at $35 a pop, I hate to guess. Anybody know if I need a 4 3/8" or 4 1/2" saw. Thanks!!

Neighbor wanting to build close or on my property.

Simplest solution to maintain the friendship would be to tell him you think he is over the property line, and you are willing to sell the few feet of land for $1 if he will take care of the costs of the transaction (survey, title work etc.) Chances are he will just move over a few feet.

    very high heat pipe wrap

The fitting, attached the tubing to the shutoff valve in the firebox. The only way to remove the stub, would be to cut it off flush with the inside of the firebox, which she does not want done. I will look into Tim37's suggestion of exhaust wrap, I should be able to find some of that at a...

    very high heat pipe wrap

That was my thinking, but since she didn't want it removed, I was hoping to insulate it to prevent damage. "Copper melts at just under 2000 degrees F, a wood fire is going to be around 1100 degrees F so the pipe itself should be fine. However, if there's a soldered joint or cap on the end of...

    very high heat pipe wrap

I recently removed a set of gas logs from a friends fireplace. It was connected to the gas supply with 3/4" copper tubing. There is an 18" stub of tubing left in the fireplace that she did not want removed, in case she or someone else would ever want to use gas again. She said she will probably...

    Floor help

I did a quick "look see" on this product on Amazon and a few people had trouble with staining after using it. At least one of them used an acid stain. Like I said, just a quick look, I would do more investigating before using.

Need advice : really bad concrete floor

How about leveling the low spots with sand and then covering the slab with t&g pressure treated plywood. This should get you thru till your ready for new concrete.

    Garage door before concrete

What I did when I built my garage, was to lay P T lumber to the height of the (eventual) floor, across the span of the door opening. I then packed gravel against the lumber to form a ramp on either side. When you are ready to pour, just rake out the ramp and remove the P T.

    Pressure Washer Parts?

Just my experience; Stock O rings found at hardware and even power equipment stores, usually are not the correct size. I have had to buy $40.00, equipment specific, O ring kit's just to obtain one O ring.
