Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

exmaxima1 - Thanks. I built a small 16'x20' backyard shop last summer, and, given that I am a woodworker, I had to have a proper woodworking bench. Thankfully, I saved the massive crate that my CNC machine was shipped on, and was able to build the bench completely out of that. I don't have any...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hello all. I was never one to care about vises until discovering GJ. Now I have three! My first one was a small Columbian d43 1/2 that I overpaid for because I wanted a vise so bad! I have since completely restored it. My second one was a Chas Parker 973 that I picked up a year and a half ago...

It has been a while since I posted, but I just picked up this sweet Powr-Kraft bench grinder of CL for $35. Didn't even haggle. It is in great condition and each face shield has a small light built in behind that turn on along with the grinder! Thanks, jawoodworking

Thanks guys! It is a JET HVBS-461 Since I am a woodworker, this was one of those machines that I was watching for, but didn't need all that badly, so I was waiting for a killer deal before I picked one up. Now I just need to get a welder, an anvil, and a metal lathe and I will be unstoppable...

Finally found a deal on a horizontal band saw. Picked up via CL last week for $50! The original posting said the tracking was off, but after installing a new blade, which came with the saw, and adjusting the guide rollers, it cuts straight and true! jawoodworking

    2016 Garage Sale Thread

Here are a few of my latest acquisitions. I stopped by a sale on late Sunday afternoon, since i had a few errands to run. The lady had quite a few rusty tools and odds and ends left, and she was ready to practically give me everything just to get rid of it. Most of the tools and woodworking...

LTK, i have a Williams wrench just like that one that I purchased from an online auction, just because. I will never have a use for it, but, like you, I had to have it. It currently hangs on the shop wall. Jawoodworking

Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Thought I would share my latest metal cabinet project. I picked up this chest of drawers, at a garage sale last summer, for $20. It was chock full of goodies. I figured I would use it in the backyard shop, but after remodeling our house, we really needed a small table or surface next to the...

I am torn on the bookcase as well. I bought it, thinking it would be a fun way to display some old tools and collectibles out in my shop, protected from the dust and debris. But at 16'x20', my shop is filling up incredibly fast. If anyone is interested in buying it, let me know. I will have to...
