So Id like to insulate my 36x56 barn using cellulose. It will have a metal ceiling with 4ft oc trusses. Do I need a vapor barrier or can I just apply the blown in cellulose directly to the metal?
Anybody use Pro-therm condensation blanket from menards on your walls? Company says it is used for roof and walls. They estimate R-8 which I highly doubt, just wondering if anyone has used it and what they think of it?
Can I mix 2x6 and 2x4 bottom cords without issues as long as pitch is the same? I plan on using half scissor trusses with 2x4 bc and half storage trusses with 2x6 bc on a 30x48x10.
You can do it with 10' walls if you go 5/12 pitch and scissor trusses over lift area. You would have over 12ft for your lift if you place lift in middle of trusses.
So now I'm thinking about possibly a 36x40x10 and still using scissor trusses 5/12 pitch (easier to roof). What do you think? I am thinking this may work better with 3 doors, I will use the back portion of the middle door for my lift. Seems it would be easier getting around things instead of...
The lift I am looking at is a greg smith lift, total height is 11'9" so it should be fine. My trailblazer is just under 6ft from the bottom of the frame to the top and I am 6'1" tall so it should be fine. I may have to just watch my head a bit with the suv on it:scared: With cars I should have...
Well, if I go with 5/12 my truss manufacturer says inside will by 2.08/12. If I went with 32ft wide I would have around 33 inches above my wall height in the center. If I placed the lift in the center of the 32ft, and saying the lift is 9ft wide, I would have 24 inches height above ceiling...
Yeah, it will never be big enough, I plan on putting the doors on the 30 ft side, the lift will be in the back of the building. I was thinking 6/12 for storage but I am rethinking this as I want to do most everything myself. I am thinking about 32 wide and 56 deep. 5/12 pitch I believe with...
I am planning a 30x56x10 pole building and will be using a 6/12 pitch roof with the last 20 ft using scissor trusses for a 2 post lift, first 36ft will have light storage trusses. My question is do you think I will have any issues lifting up a truck if the lift is positioned in the center of the...
Do you think osb pricing might come down? Here in Michigan OSB has skyrocketed since I last checked it out in like feb of 2012. I have heard with the demand of it more mills may open up and prices will fall but I tend to think it will keep going up. Any thoughts?
