VFD and 3-phase motor on drill press

The motor plate is unfortunately pretty bare. I've measured the spacing on the plate and unfortunately it doesn't quite line up with anything exactly in the charts. I need to spend a little more time on the google machine for it. Maybe a 56c?

VFD and 3-phase motor on drill press

This has been on my interest list for a while for my Shop Fox. The thing that has thrown me off so far is finding a motor with the right mount and spindle. Highly interested in this for tapping and just easier control.

    Mezzanine design resources

You can figure out quite a bit on what will fly and won't fly based on span tables. I have had a general design for over a year, but I'm still planning on paying a structural engineer for a stamp. To me i'm confident in what i can design, but I also want to be able to hand over a document to...

    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT My Mini Garagemahal

I bought the gen1 version of that right angle die grinder a week before the gen2 came out . I love it for weld prep, but it does have power limitations. The gen2 solves a bunch of them supposedly.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Will it finally happen? 32x40 Garage/Shop build!

In my opinion while it's nice to get the interaction and praise, you are really doing it for yourself. Your build thread can be many things at once in that light. Mine simultaneously serves as a journal/blog, reference doc, a time capsule of my mental state, and a good reminder that when you...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT 3rd time's a charm with a 3 car workshop

Late to the game but adding on. As someone with 4 50 amp plugs in his shop I still have an extension cord and find it highly useful. Especially when I have multiple projects taking certain zones. Smaller shop means less need, but my two cents. Have the older version evolution miter saw and love...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT The Fort!!

Did a dual 200 separate service on my much smaller shop. Costly, but you won't be asking yourself what might have been. Mine runs pool equipment, HVAC, and have load/panel room to run a small apartment long term. Also assembled my own red iron bolt up. it's water tight but two years in still...

Above 1200 Sq/FT From Urban Pie Factory To Mountain Barn

A ten minute job quickly turned into a 9 month 18 year project. Congrats on the little one! Our daughter has her middle name as Margot. Her and her brother get along well, though she looks like she is going to be even crazier than the oldest.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Congrats on the new shop! I have been stopping by your thread on occassion and it does at least look like it's coming along and will be a great space. With selecting subs, I apparently have the mierdas touch. Everything I have seems to go to... well... that. I have had much better luck with...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Darby's City Garage, Est. 2025

I see the benefit of irregular shape being that it more naturally settles your workspace into designated zones. Also will allow for partitioning for dust and whatnot. Congrats on the new space!

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

I did end up getting my x-axis power feed installed on the mill the other night. For a generic one the install was straightforward. It seems to operate well, but makes manually cranking the lead screw more difficult. I likely have some shim work to do on that, but quite honestly don't know what...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

From what I have gathered (which is surprising), the concrete suppliers have been largely shielded from legal and insurance action so far. It's mostly the pool builders and the shell subcontractors that are being targeted. For the pool shell sub, they are in the process of bankruptcy with $90...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Thank you Swanny. He has been playing the apologetic and caring person through this so far. I am hoping that eventually translates to dollars and action. It is a massive central Texas issue. Thousands of pools over dozens of companies. From what I have read it's entirely the result of where...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Onto some good news. I finally got the plants in the last set of planters I intend to build this year. They really add a more complete feel of the backyard project that has been all-consuming for me the last few months/years. While there is plenty more to go, I intend to take a long break and...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Project not an eyesore

Nothing interesting to report this week. Continued working on cleaning up the mill and doing some overdue maintenance. The biggest hurdle remains getting the VFD settings working properly using the chinesium model. I thought I had it working, but then it started giving short circuit errors. a...
