Installed fluorescent fixtures in my garage and it is BRIGHT!

. What temperature bulbs did you use? I recently installed some new electronic ballasts and a mix of bulbs-- 5000k daylight and 6500k blue light. I really like the pop of the 6500k but dislike the harsh blues. So far, a solid compromise. Before the upgrade, my 8 bulb fixtures only...

    Two car in Eastern NC

I plan on building a workbench similar to your wooden one. I was curious how you attached the vertical 2x4s legs to one another. Glue & screws? Would you make any changes to the workbench plans? I like the color combination throughout the garage. Very clean look .

    Pittsburgh Automotive jacks. Any Good?

Apart from the obvious-- the aluminum is lighter-- what are the pros/cons to the aluminum jack versus steel jack? Other than the aluminum is usually 'low profile' as well.

    Black & Decker Workmate

Found this Workmate on CL and decided to fix it up. A simple sand and paint, and I hope it lasts another 15 years.

    Finally upgraded the lighting

I might be doing this project. I have a similar setup-- (2x) 2 bulb, 4ft fixtures with a possible blown ballast. Doing auto work can be a hassle. I'll be researching this project for a couple days to figure out my options. What about bulbs with higher luminance? When it comes to electical work...
