    Challenger Lift vs Tuxed

Two lifts in contention.... Challenger VLE10k, $4,300 plus 225 for the stack adapter. This is made in China not US Tuxedo 11k, $3,500. Also there is the Tuxedo 9k for $2,200. I have it narrowed to those 3 since they are in stock locally. Home use, Nissan Titan is the biggest vehicle...

Metal ceiling installation struggles... scissor lift better than scaffold?

The rails made all the difference in my opinion. Money well spent

    Garage alarm systems

I went with a ring system from Costco. The best thing for me is the monitoring of the heat detectors and smoke alarm in the office portion. Without it I would never hear a smoke alarm going off 300 ft away and inside another building. I don't pay for the monitoring though.

Metal ceiling installation struggles... scissor lift better than scaffold?

I just finished a 30x40 14ft high ceilings with a scaffold and drywall lift. Drywall lift was great because I could get the panels up tight and then adjust them however I wanted and take my time. Did 8ft panels easily on my own. I do have the baker scaffloding with the rails and outriggers, nice...

    Inspection

Showed up today, 9 days after the request. Inspector was great, they took 7 days to give him the request. Thanks all for the advice.

    Inspection

Our city only has an email and voice mail line to request an inspection. I called last Monday for a rough in and it hasn't happened. There is a cell for the inspector on the permit, should I call or just be patient? My contractor said he normally gets next day inspections, I assume home owners...

    pole barn pricing

I just had a 30x40x14 built in KY and it was $55k. 3 overhead doors, a walk door, condensation barrier on roof, laminated posts, gutters, 20x40 gravel pad, overhangs and gutters. I would say you are in the ballpark.

    Mutant toolbox from combining hobbies

I have another hobby of collecting old aviation things. My $50 find of an old galley cart turned into a pretty nicely tool chest. It has sliding removable drawers, one set on each side lockable doors, a nice spot on top, it rolls, and you can lock and unlock the casters with your foot. Just have...

    2 Post placement new build

I know this has been discussed a lot... but, I need some validation on where to put my lift. 30x40x14 building - the middle bay is a straight shot in from the driveway, the two side bays have a 20' pad in front of them - so think of it as a t shaped arrangement on the pad. Right bay with the...

    Kentucky garage insulation/heating

Classic Buildings in Clarksville built my original and it was very nicely done and on time, extremely satisfied. Sometime in the past decade they got heavy into homebuilding and seem to care less about the post frame side of their business. 5 phone calls to get someone out, then 4 months later...

    Kentucky garage insulation/heating

I am also in Louisville. I have a 24x40 10' ceilings and I insulated R19 walls, R30 ceiling. The first few years I used electric heat. About 5 years ago I put in a Mr Cool 18k minisplit and would never go back. About $30/month keeps it comfortable year round. I leave it on 62(the lowest it will...
